What's been on the workbench lately?

January has been (by FAR) my busiest month ever!

I haven't posted up a lot of pics yet, but here's what I've worked on this month! (not everything, but a handful of goodies!!)

Started off with a customer who wanted his OEM lights painted PXR black, with a hemi orange halo'd shroud. Customer also has a set of LED turn signals, so he requested that we leave the turn bowl chrome. High beam bowl was left chrome as well, at his request.

This set was done for a returning customer. He got a set for his wife's truck, LOVED them and got one for his truck too! These are a set of TYC aftermarket replicas, painted in satin black. The gatling gun 2.0 shroud just looks at home in the headlight.

Then, I did the same set in chrome! These are TYC replicas as well.

Painted up some blue lights, Deep Water Blue to be exact. Such an amazing color!!

Played with some 4th gen duals too. These are PXR / satin. We lightly tinted the turn signal reflector, while leaving the area behind it chrome - looks like we didn't lose much of the light output from the turns at all!

I got an email from a customer with a set of Recon aftermarket lights. He said that the output on them is worse than stock, and the halos are junk! So, he sent me his OEM lights and we painted them PXR and added some halos to them!

Here's a work in progress pic of a set of 07-08 OEM lights that we painted PXR, tinted the side amber and removed the turn signal stalk from. LOTS of stuff coming to this set - keep your eyes pealed for updated pics on these soon!

Next up - a set of 4th Gen Quads! These are TYC aftermarket replicas, we painted the bezels in satin black, leaving the turn signal bowl chrome. The high beam bowl was also left chrome. Last up, we added a set of CCFL halos to the shrouds!

Also did up a few sets of tails! Had a customer request that we do PXR tinted tails.......thought.......ok? Why not! And WOW - these have taken off! We've done 4 sets this month already, another set in the booth now! I love how the metallic looks on these tails!

Yeah, Christmas $$ was a busy time for me. Last year.......I had the first weekend of February "off" and then BAM - holy crap - I had orders FLOWING in.

I already told the painter that he might want to take some vacation time soon. LOL

I'm actually moving to a 4/10 shift at the day job starting on 2/6, so I'll have every Friday off to work on lights too. Well, unless that week is odd and I need to work a regular shift - but.......hopefully I'll have 3 day weekends from now on out!

You should join up on VTCOA. I bet you could sell a ton of lights on there and they would all be 3rd gens. No hideous 4th gen lights to take apart lol

Honestly though, I'd take a 4th Gen over a 06-08 ANY day. They open the same, but the glue is a ***** to get off of those OEM 06-08s.

Few more goodies!

The shrouds on this set came in today. I tossed the CCFLs on them and mounted them to the projectors. Now to wait for the rest to come in - but it gives you a little teaser!



And another set I completed today. This one is for a 02-05 Ram, we ordered a new set of lights with clear corners. We stripped the chrome, painted everything to match the OEM color (PX8). These also feature the MC-R shrouds with the CCFLs glowing from the back. Love these!!

This set also has a nice dust cap on the back to keep everything clean! I put these on every retrofit (except the 4th Gen quads, as they already have dust caps).
