Naw, the lumber i was probably sitting at 800lbs or so tongue weight, that's why the lumber is staggered like that. I've had it overloaded on tongue weight, like Carolina Squat, towed without issues. I've put different springs in the rear since, I keep a 500lbs toolbox/headache rack combo in the bed at all times, then I put 1700lbs of concrete pavers in the bed on/behind the axle and it sat level. (Yes yes I know the springs don't change my ratings, just keep me from looking overloaded)

My truck does struggle with wind resistance more than actual weight... like hauling a massive shed or an empty large flat front enclosed trailer (Either I'm 4K lbs or less) it works harder than when I was hauling the lumber, or a 13K lbs tractor or the above trailer, or a dump trailer sitting at 10-11K with a load.

800 lbs tongue weight on a 15k load? That's barely 5% tongue weight.

I'd be more concerned with axle and tire capacity if you're hauling some of the stuff you've mentioned. You can't change the axle to haul more. :)

A new-to-me used snowblower (~255lbs), about 110 miles. The trailer easily outweighed the snowblower. :Big Laugh:

EDIT: U-Haul claims that motorcycle trailer weighs 870lbs empty, definitely a low center of gravity for this "load".
