I havent had my 4.7L ram programmed in a long time. I decided to get another flashpaq back in april. I sold it to a friend a week later because i didnt feel any difference. Since then i have been hearing there was a transmission update so i bought it back from him. Now i'm seeing that there is now a 3865 tuner. Whats the difference between the two? Its tiny now i know that much ha. I've read that the 3815 doesnt support the new advanced transmission update. Is this correct?

THe 3815 doesnt support trans tuning...if you want that you'll need the 3865 or the 3950.

Sell it back to your friend. Then buy one of the two models already mentioned.

I know exactly how you feel. I had a SC3865 and traded it for a DSP and just purchased another SC3865 this morning. Anyone want to buy a DSP? ......

I tried selling it back to my friend but he was actually hurting for the money to help pay his truck note so i left him alone about it. He was laid off a month ago and i didnt even know. How much would the 3815 be worth now? Lets say to someone who didnt know about the new 3865 or didnt care to have the advanced transmission tuning?

maybe a nieve question here Guys cause I haven't paid attention to the new SC updates but Is the advanced Transmission Tuning really worth the Upgrade for Brandon to reallt worry about it? Just askin cause like Red I own an 03 and am still waiting (and it will prolly never happen). When my 3714 I bought on ebay (yep thats the one cat) went **** up Superchips gave me a great deal on a new one and it was the 3865 and they never mentioned the 3815. My tranny works great IMO granted I also have the TMR delete so maybe that helps. Dunno!

The Diablo doesn't like my 03. When the "quick Adjust" is used it throws a ABS warning and requires the dealer to reset. Doesn't adjust rev or speed limiters. Custom tunes can only adjust fuel/timing. I've called Diablo and have posted on their support forum numerous times and all I have gotten from them is BS. Basically, Diablo doesn't support the 03 Ram 1500 Hemi. No longer want to deal with Diablo and do not recommend this tuner for the 03 Ram.. Anyone with a newer truck want to buy an unlocked Diablo U7137, pwr supply and USB cable pls contact me. $325 shipped.

Actually, a SC3815 might be the tuner to have for a 03 Ram as the 03 doesn't benifit from all of SC latest trans tunes. As mentioned the 03 can do the TMR mod which really helps. Along with a Transgo type shift kit, we are in pretty good shape. What we really need from the current tuners is to be able to adjust the rev and speed restricters. The canned performance tunes are ok, but to be able to spin the engine up is the real benefit. Good luck

The DSP for the newer HEMI trucks (05+) work great, they work even better with the 05's & 06's though cause of the part throttle trans tuning that you do not have to pay for. Plus, dependeing how far you want to take your truck, there are a lot of other adjustments that can be made with it for tuning purposes and custom tuning purposes that SC just does not offer at the moment unless you stack tuners.

Now for the 4.7, I could not tell you which is better or worse. I believe DSP just released the tuner (pogramming) for the 4.7 so they are newer to the game than SC is.

IMO I would look up both tuners, find out what each of them offers for the 4.7, and then decide what you are planning on doing with your truck. If you are keeping it roughly stock with a few minor bolt-on's the newer SC is probably going to be more of what you are going to want. On the other hand though, if you are planning on doing a lot of engine work and mods that need the extra tuning then I would lean more towards the DSP.

Now IF SC ever gets around to adding a few more features like user adjustments for adjusting WOT Fuel/Spark, more aggressive rev limiter, idle etc. as well as complete and reliable custom tuning I will hop back over to the SC familly.

3865 has more support for the newer dodges. so if i sell the truck for a new ram or charger, bam i already have a tuner
