my wife has an 06 dakota 4X4. i am hearing a roaring noise from the left front wheel. i is speed constant and does not change with transmission shifts. i have jacked up the front end and have no movement side to side or top to bottom while puling on the wheel. the ball joints on the left are going out. i did have up and down movement on the left only when prying up on the tire. any time i have heard this noise on other vehicle it has been the bearings.
this is the first vehicle i have had with cv joints so i dont know alot about them. there is no clicking noise. i backed the truck up with the wheels cut all the way to both sides and nothing. is ther something else in there that i need to check. the noise is getting worse and something is gonna give sooner or later. your help would be apprciated.
