I'm in market for new wheels for my 2500. I really like the procomp rockwell 5034. Max load on each wheel is 3420lbs. Some of the other brands are between 3500-3600lbs. Is 3420 safe for a 3/4 ton?

The better comparison would be against factory wheels. But really it all depends on how much weight you carry in your truck. Now if you routinely haul a bunch of weight (pin or tongue heavy trailer, dirt, bricks, etc...). Your best bet would be to find a set of scales and check your axle weights. That will tell you what you need to know. But I would think you would be fine.

3420 lbs on each wheel is likely far more than you'll ever need. That would equate to 6840 lbs per axle or 13,680 for the truck. Your truck should weight around 6500 lbs empty and only 40% at most of that weight would be on the back axle (2600 lbs). Your payload is 3280 lbs at most so even if that was all on the back axle (which it wouldn't be) you'd only have around 5880 lbs on the back axle which is still below the 6840 lbs that your wheels can handle.
