Just curious where the best route to run the antenna is to keep it hidden and look factory, thanks!

Probably up one of the a pillars and over the headliner. Would be the best bet to get to the roof and stay hidden.

for aftermarket for vehicles without trunks. I usually run it to the A pillar then outside then in the rubber trim which usually runs to the windshield trim then in that if its not aftermarket sealed then to the roof with very little wire showing.

on my truck I have the radio mounted on the center left air grill vent. The wire goes straight to a groove below then under the dash then up the trim under the weather trim then attached to the roof 4in or so from the side and windshield front drives side.

i know i have a longer antenna cable then most people, since i have a pioneer head unit and theirs 2 seperate boxes to run in integrated. But i have the pioneer unit tucked under the dash almost straight under the power outlet, the cable from that it tucked under the 4x4 cover, then under and into the center seat storage. the antenna cable then runs from there under the drivers seat to the floor molding (yes its uncovered here, but barely visible tucked so far back towards the seatbelt), then runs under the panel towards the rear, up the pillar near the drivers side rear seat belt, fed under the headliner (did not drop it, just pushed in in from behind near rear glass), then fed out of the truck through the 3rd brake light.

There's no need to have the antenna outside the truck, as long as it has an unobstructed view of the sky. It can "see" through glass, plastic, and carpeting.
My Kenwood head unit came with a sticky backed metal plate for mounting on the dash, and the antenna sticks to that magnetically. I just fished the wire down between the dash and windshield, plugged it into the head unit, and it works great. It sits very close to the glass and isn't anywhere near as visible inside the cabin as this closeup pic might suggest. In fact, I haven't seen it at all for three years, because it sits hidden under my dash mat. I just yanked off the mat to take this pic, and you can see the thing is covered with dust. Note to self - clean truck more often...
