Hey guys, title says it all. I've searched all afternoon and can't find what I need or maybe I'm too stupid to know when I see it.
2010 1500 with alpine. I have a sub and amp added in place of the factory sub and it sounds terrible no matter what I do. It's tapped into the sub wires for the LOC.
I'm ready to just bypass the alpine signal and run from the headunit preouts. I would like to keep my steering wheel controls and back up camera. I've read how to splice the factory camera in, just need headunit suggestions!
Thanks guys.
*oh, and I'm really tired of looking at that blue and white screen that looks like it came out of a 90's computer!

And I don't need an aftermarket fascia for the dash correct? It should fit the factory opening?

You will but I forgot, go to sonic electronic and you get a great deal on all the accessories when you buy a deck

i would buy the link that 1500ram12 posted that takes care of all of it except for the aswc-1

what i tell people is asking on a forum what kind a radio to buy would be like going to an autoshow and asking what kind of car to buy... the best recommendation i can give is to go to multiple stores and play with their head units. what someone receommends on here you may find there is something about it you actually dont like.

i personally have had all from alpine, kenwood, and pioneer all were dvd/nav units. they all had their pros-cons.

I would have to agree with this. I've primarily used pioneer units in the past and have enjoyed them. Easy to use, mainly iPhone compatible. They have tried to break into making droid compatible devices but I don't think they are there yet. My last unit was a sony xav721hd. It's had a lot of good features and interface. The one feature I enjoyed most (ended up buying the Sony xperia z3v to make everything work correctly) was the mirrorlink. It allowed you to view and control your phone through the headunit. Pioneer has it also but only a few devices are compatible and the software company hadn't updated the app in over 2 years. I'm currently running the alpine ine-z928hd. It's a nice unit, more sound quality based then visual appearance.
