I've always owned a truck. When I retired I sold my 1999 GMC Sierra and bought a new 2016 2 door Jeep Wrangler. This was the first time I didn't own a truck in 30 years. The Jeep was a lot of fun but I still missed having a truck around. My wife also has a Jeep so I decided to trade mine in on a new Ram Sport, loaded up with options I would never normally get as this would probably be the last truck I ever buy. So far I haven't regretted trading the Jeep for a second. I looked at a few before I choose my Red Crew Cab Sport with the 6 foot 4 inch box.

I am buying mine because my kids have expressed more interest in the outdoors. The money is worth the time I have left with them before they go to college. camping and kayaking, cant wait

Bought my ‘16 Longhorn because FCA had just written me a check for my ‘14 Bighorn which was a complete Lemon.

We were in the market to get something bigger than our small SUV with a view of pulling a pop up trailer and trying to give our daughter and puppy some space to breath in the back seat. A bigger SUV was the original play but the fuctionality of the truck was very appealing. A truck will also give us an option to expand out camping toys :D

I need to haul lumber, post, concrete, guitar amps, p.a. equipment, blocks, dogs, camping stuff, furniture, appliances, dead bodies (you know, animals) ladders, rocks, and crap all the time.

Doesn't everybody?

Because I bought a travel trailer that (while technically within specs) was just too much for my Dakota to pull in the mountains.
When the rear end started to go, it was time to upgrade to a new Ram.
Loved my Dakota in every way. It was a blast to drive thanks to the 5.9L, but realistically it was not made for any serious duty. Though it still had 4 wheel drive and plenty of ground clearance ;)

I'm a home owner and family man. There's other reasons to own a truck? Lol.

In all seriousness, while I do believe every family should own a truck, I've wanted a truck since I was a kid. After I got married, the Honda CR-V that I was driving was due to go to the shop for a $500 repair for the fifth month in a row. We decided that since we were already effectively making a car payment a month, it was time to trade it in.

I was brought up by my neighbors to be a Ford fan. (And hate Chevy's.) F-150's proved to be too expensive, so in '14, I got my 2012 quad cab 1500 express with the hemi.

Fast forward to 2018, and I got hit on my way home from work. Truck wasn't totaled, but after getting it back from the body shop, I had a exhaust/fuel smell in the cab. Subsequent trips to the body shop and my mechanic, could not find the cause, so we had to trade it in. It was bad enough for me, but we couldn't let our kids smell that crap.

I looked at Ford's and Ram's, and now have another Ram. A 2016 quad cab 1500 Sport. An equivalently equipped Ford was $10k more expensive. So again priced out of being an option. Plus, their extended cab has suicide doors. Love the quad cab for the conventionally opening rear doors.

I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my Ram's, and would not at all be surprised to own another Ram in the future.

My 2014 Durango R/T was perfect for long distance traveling...alone.

Once I started dating my significant other in 2016 we realized we needed more room (in the cab). July 2017...in came my 2017 Rebel. Its been simple awesome.

We've driven to southern California, Florida (Key West) and I've taken 2 other trips, BC/Alberta in Canada and northern Alabama. Such a great traveling vehicle.

While I loved my Durango the pickup is much more realistic. I have the bed for transporting items, Rambox for storage and full size wide cab for comfort.

The truck always comes in handy. I am also a family man and I have seen when not having a truck around made certain tasks more difficult and always said I wish I had a pick up for this or for that. Of course I always get the "oh man I bet that burns so much gas" yeah the mpg isn't great so what. Not only that I just love pick up trucks in general especially the Ram trucks. The ride feels great, very comfortable and powerful. I have owned smaller cars in the past and I never liked it. This is my second Ram and I probably will get another one in the future.

After a life long GM truck owner, my POS 11 Sierra (4.8, had electrical issues) I traded it off for a Ram after test driving a Ford.

Absolutely happy with my decision.

I have always had a truck, to useful to not own one.

Just upgraded from MY 15 ED to a MY 19 Hemi to get out of the diesel and all of the current issues on the 3.0L. But I will say I had no trouble, but the ED just did not ne more fit my needs, BUT I miss the MPG...

My work requires one (construction). Never owned one before but grew up with my dad's Chevy 2500.

Have owned Ford and GMC's my whole life , never saw myself buying a RAM. The price the dealership had was too good to pass up and my Ford was well over 200k (05 F150 never had an issue). Just wanted to get something Brand new with a baby in the future

GM as of late has been a disappointment. The new trucks are fugly. Dodge trucks have always seemed to be solid trucks and my new 2500 Heavy Duty is no exception. I'm really happy with it. I still own older GM light duty half ton pickups that would've been too small/ overloaded for my future towing and hauling plans.

I traded my 2012 Ram for a new 2018 Ram 4x4 because my wife said I couldn't have a new truck. Showed her that she is not the boss of me after 27 years of marriage. LOL She got back at me by buying a new Grand Cherokee Limited the next day. LOL

My local dealership is a two-fer. Ram and Ford. I needed a truck and went to look at the F150 (lifelong Ford man). I was not impressed by the '19 Fords and was really not impressed with the price. I did not plan on looking at Ram but sales rep talked me into at least test driving one. Drove a granite chrystal quad cab Express classic with 3.6 Pentastar and it knocked my socks off. fairly basic but drove out amazing the price was right. picked it up the next day and have not regretted it once.

I too was a F150 fan.LOVED my FORD.. Ans when I was looking at trucks I was planning on FORD or CHEVY. Then my RAM caught my eye :) Test drove it and I was sold. The price for a newer RAM was cheaper then a older FORD or CHEVY! I also have the V6 and for me and my street queen RAM works for me. 21mpg avg is a plus :)
