Just wandering why Dodge is pushing the Crew or Mega cab in the limited and Laramie/longhorn trim levels. I really want a loaded Quad cab with 6'4" bed. Also why don't they just scrap the smaller fuel tank and opt for the larger as SDT.

Everyone wants a crew cab with the bigger back seat and all of its comforts, they are the new family transport, most are getting out of the mini van and SUV and buying a CC 4x4, for family vacations, I love my Quad cab, I have older grand kids and they don't mind riding in the back seat and a 6.4ft box to boot the dealers want to get ride of them, they couldn't wait for me to purchase it, I got almost all of the options that a Limited has, I was looking at Ford Lariat and they were 15,000 more forget that.

Because they make more profit with a crew cab. Using the Ram build application I found that with the same configuration and packages that the crew cab would cost me $2,600 more. Even the front bucket seats which add $895 on the quad cab will add $1,295 with the crew cab and I cannot see how the front bucket seats would differ from the crew to those in the quad cab.

95% of the truck on the dealers lots within 150 miles of my house are crew cab 5'7" box trucks. To get a quad cab 6'4" box truck you will need to special order one. It is worth the effort as you can avoid all the other pricey glam options that also are stuck on the trucks to make them more expensive though not adding any real value for the owner.

I looked at a quad cab longhorn years ago....but it was a ’12 or ‘13. Too old for what I wanted at the time.
