Hello i'm new to dodge rams & ram forum so excuse me if this is a well known issue.I have a 15 1500 cc sport & today headed home from work i inadvertently lowered one of the back door windows instead of the front & holy crap i thought the trucks rear axle was coming unglued as it felt like the truck was about to self destruct.I have never experienced this & had no idea what was going on,but after i rolled the back window up it stopped,i then tried the other back window & then both rear door windows & bam it happened every time i opened one of those Windows while all the others were shut.
I had a 13 f150 screwcab & this never happened in it,what do you people with kids do if they're the only ones who lower their windows or is my truck just a pos as this wasn't cool @ all.I will note that other then this i love my truck.

:naughty:Wind buffeting is mentioned in the owners manual and how to avoid it.

Has to do with aerodynamics and pressure inside the cab.

I just never drive with the windows down.....problem solved for me.:naughty:

If you're talking about the "helicopter" sound this happens on almost every new car I've been in, especially with the sunroof open.

I think it has to do with the thinner metal being used on vehicles to improve economy and lower costs.

Yea its pretty bad just opening one back window, If I have any windows open I always open the rear slider to allow for a much smoother air flow.

On y 1500 SLT work truck it does it real bad. I noticed if I fold the mirrors in it goes away but then it feels like I'm driving blind with out the mirror in their proper place. I rarely drive with the windows down. AC is on 24/7/365 anyways.

Yeah it's definitely a shock when you experience that sound for the first time. Most of the time I have the windows down I am by myself so I just lower the front two. I have AVS deflectors and the sound is still bad when you lower just the rear windows. Just has to do with air pressure I presume.
