Modding the washer fluid bottle to be a drink dispensor wasn't that uncommon when i was a kid,had a couple buddies who had done it to their cars in high school.Didn't take the mounties long to figure it out though,so they were still getting open liquor tickets, lol. That was before breathalizers were around, and getting what we referred to as a 54 (cost of an open liquor ticket) and the beer taken away at midnight was all you had to worry about,as Off Sales closed at midnight in those days, lol.
It was a coin toss on a weekly basis,to see who took the open liquor ticket,as everybody would chip in for the fine :Big Laugh:
My local law enforcement referred to them and any empty’s as 52 dollar wonders . As you will wonder how they can charge that much , especially the empty’s.

I've used Gas to clean windows, found it worked as good as Diesal and was easier to clean up afterwards.

Using Coke to free up rusted pistons in old engines was also very common. As kids we were always scrounging up old engines to put in somebodies car to get it back up and running  .After you got the rusted piston free,we'd run a ball hone or deglazer through the cylinder, and wire wheel the piston clean, and if they had enough money slap a set of new rings and bearings in it,and you be up and running for the summer for about a hundred bucks,if no money,we'd free up the rings and it'd go back together with hopes and prayers lol
Ding on the towel I believe I have said use those a ton of times on here lol. It is all about the technique and pressure. Just dont use some crap cleaner. The stuff I have suggested I guarantee he has something very similar in his actual shop. He just shows you things that you can get at a local store. Something you would see not some brand you have never heard of that is better lol.

The basic science is sound. Acid to dissolve/soften and carbonation to lift. Seems like streaking would be more problematic than products actually designed for glass, though. Also, yellow jackets may take a liking to your vehicle...

Be careful around paint if you decide to give it a go. I've used citric acid to soften tar smears, but always very carefully cleaned the area and waxed it afterward.

My great uncle used to work for Coca-Cola back in the 50s-60s and he swore by cleaning his glass and chrome with it. Strangest thing I ever remember seeing as a kid, but he had some spotless chrome and glass on his mid 80s Buick Electra. My grandpa tried it a few times and he said that it worked well, but does get sticky if you aren't careful with it.

I couldn't imagine what might gum up beneath the wiper cowl if it drains down into there, so I'll stick with some good glass cleaner and elbow grease. But let me know!

Just used coke to clean battery posts and a lot of Vaseline putting parts together like power steering pumps. Have dumped cheap atf into carb to clean and smoke out the mosquitos.

It works! I started doing it years ago to clean and stop the greasy streaking on the front windshields only. Rinse off when you can if you want to, it will probably get a little sticky. No problems with anything! Another tip would be to wipe your wiper blades with alcohol to clean them and prevent squeaking and smears.

Coke and Gentleman's Jack or Bulleit for me. Gotta watch those ice cubes though, sometimes you get bad ice and they leave you with a headache the next day.

Has anyone tried Steel wool the finest 0000 is the best to used on the (Aussie Windscreen) (Merican Windshield) and side windows to remove, wiper marks and water spotting. Use it dry after you washed the Truck and wipers work better and all the bugs are gone too.

Lived in Mays Landing for a while, worked at Harrah's on the Brigantine. (Shore Kid originally south of route 70)
