Hello again. When lowering the drivers door window on our "new" 2014 Longhorn 1500 it shudders very badly. If I pull down on the window while lowering, the shuddering stops and it goes down smooth. Sometimes in hot weather the shuddering is less. Anyone know what can be done to correct this? I am wondering if there is a lubricant (dry?) that can be put on the window tracks to make it slide easier. Thoughts??

Thank you,
David

Use silicone spray lube, trace the window track with the straw attachment inside the groove of the window, with it rolled down of course lol, it doesn’t need much but if you spray a little too much it won’t hurt anything just a messy window, spray that and you should be good.

Edit: You may at first, have to work it in by the rolling the window up and down but not much, maybe a few times at the most.

Actually mine shudders when the window is rolled down maybe 4 inches and stays there... As I drive it shudders. If I roll it down a few more inches it goes away.

My window is smooth to roll up and down. Just shudders when I drive in that one spot.

Mine came unseated from the bracket that raises and lowers the window when i attempted to lower it while iced up last winter. I managed to partially reseat it but it wasn't fully attached. I think mine was doing what you described until I took it to the dealer and had them reattach it fully. They said it was a somewhat common issue.

Mine was doing this. My problem was the weather stripping between the door and the glass was not making smooth contact. I ran my finger across the glass and it didn't slide smoothly across. I polished the glass(outside since I have tint on the inside) and I haven't had a problem since.

As others stated, spray some sort of lube in the tracks. Had the issue with my passenger side, front window. I believe I used some of the silicone stuff, and after twice lowering and raising, it no longer shudders. Been good for many months now.

OK, I sprayed some silicone lube on the tracks and, voila, no more shuddering. Thank you very much for the input!!

This truck is new to me, so I am slowly working out the minor issues that came with it.
