Hi all, hopefully someone can share some insight. I just noticed that around 60 km/h and above a weird grinding/metal on metal sound coming from front drivers side. I had both front bearings replaced around 2 1/2 years ago. Pads and rotors are just over a year old with lots of pad left and I checked the front diff fluid a couple weeks ago and it was pretty clean. Tires are a couple years old, bought them new. I’m thinking it could be a cv axle? It doesn’t make any noise at low speeds and don’t hear anything when turning. I only hear it when my window is down, can’t hear it in cab with it up. Any thoughts?

Grinding noises are usually wheel bearings/front hubs, clicking noise is usually CV's.I'd get it checked out ASAP,as a bad front wheel bearing can really ruin your day in a hurry if it goes bad at highway speeds

Fair enough, I jacked the front end up to see if there was any play in tire, nothing. Took the tire off to check if anything looked out of sort or caught and didn't see anything. I wiggled the brake dust shield and it was solid. After doing that the sound went away. Maybe it self healed? Or something fell out? I'll definitely keep a close eye on it.

I had the same thing happen to mine, that's when after few kilometers of driving, the trailer, park assist, abs lights came on.... and they had to change the brake pedal sensor, and it was a truck less than a year old..
