Hi, there from Belize!

I discovered my 2016 Ram 1500 5.7L windshield fluid reservoir is probably cracked. I filled it with fresh fluid and a couple of days later all was gone. I saw water on the ground. I have several questions is, "How difficult is it to replace the reservoir"? Do replacement reservoirs come with a pump? Is Dorman as good manufacturer for OEM replacement.

Remember, I am in Belize and parts ordered take from 4 to 6 weeks to arrive from the US. Does Rock Auto carry Ram reservoirs? I rather not use Amazon or Ebay.

Put your eyeballs on it, sometimes it’s the gasket from the sensor/pump

Recently on my 2014 Impala LTZ the washer fluid leaked out of the jug. I had to remove the LF wheel and fender liner, and found the hose connector that connects to the pump had popped off. It was held on the pump nipple with two opposing plastic clips. One clip had broken.

The line and connector was serviced as part of the forward lamp wiring harness, and was discontinued.

I bought a length of hose and ran it from the pump to the cowl washer fluid connector, and used two nylon clamps to hold each end on.

I know this is a GM product - but if you can, check your hose connection to ensure it did not come off or the connector cracked (and not the jug).

Brings back memories. You’re lucky you stopped there. There is a few brackets that have to be removed to get the bottle out. Pay particular attention to the pump orientation if you have to take it out. Incorrect installation left the sensor float in the wrong position and gave me a low fluid light on the dash. Had to do that job twice.
Note; all of this because one of my know it all employees couldn’t tell me the low fluid light was on so I could refill the washer fluid for him. Moral of this story is to not keep pressing the squirt button with not enough fluid, pull over and p*i*s*s* in the bottle

I've had good luck with Dorman products, including a washer reservoir and a radiator overflow tank. The plastic was thicker and just felt better. I have learned that most washer fluids can leave a slimy residue over time that can clog the pump. When it stops flowing or slows down I've pulled the tank and cleaned it out with a garden hose. Same with the pump.

Here an update on the windshield fluid reservoir situation.

After being quoted about $100 US to repair the leak, I decided to check it out on YouTube . I took off the grill and removed the tank. Once I did the inspection, I did not find a crack. The pump sensor and filter was clogged with years of windshield fluid residue. After I cleaned out the sensor and filter and put the pump back, I put windshield washer fluid in the tank and no leaks. The Ram is back with all things in place.

Apparently, the sensor was go gummed up it moved upwards causing the fluid the leak out. Well, at least that is my humble opinion. All is working and no wet spots on the ground and the windshield is clean.
