So I'm looking to get a few light bars and probably wire up a train horn shortly after. My question is how are you wiring them up? Are you using separate relays for every single accessory? Or is there some way to have it all wired cleanly into some kind of master fuse block/relay so there aren't a million grounds and wires leading to the battery?

Any threads, links and pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Right. I'd probably do the same for the horn. I mean more along the lines of harnesses and relays and fuses...does each accessory in your truck use it's own relay harness or is it just a straight wire with an inline fuse? I'm worried about a cheap harness for the lights not being able to handle over 500 watts of power from the two light bars. Looking for wiring schematics maybe

I used one of these in my Tundra. Probably not it's intended use but it helped keep the wiring manageable.

Well for my light bar I had a shop do the install. Basically they wired it to the battery with an inline fuse. I wanted it hooked to the battery so that I could run the lights without the truck being on. I've wired other things to the fuse box though. For example my interior lights. I don't have any wiring schematics though

I have not installed it in my truck since I have not added anything at this point, but I will do as I have done with my last two vehicles. I bought two distribution blocks and grounded one while running the other to the battery with an inline fuse. This keeps the look clean and simple with only one aftermarket cable coming off the battery. I then place both blocks under my dash where they are hidden but not to much of a pain in the ... to get to. Now I have an easy, safe, and clean way to run power and ground to anything. I used audio blocks in the past from Stinger (keeping with the Florida companies) and I know they are available at most audio places as well as other styles.

Trxhemi...that's what I want to do. Is there a distribution block that anyone knows of that cleans up the nest of wires but has an integrated relay/fuse for each system? Sort of like that summit racing.com link in here but more robust for higher draw accessories...

Painless performance makes the Cirkit Boss. Go to their homepage and do a search for "Cirkit Boss". They have heavy duty versions.

This can be put together from parts available from your local Parts store.

With the wiring on these newer trucks it's always safer to run it separate. I have my 4 aux fog lights on their own switch mounted to the bottom of the dash. If something ends up shorting out, minimal damage will be done as opposed to tapping another power wire then you fry a $1,000 fusebox.

Agreed, It's so simple to make a good harness separate from the factory stuff and there's no risk!
