1021250845_HDR.jpgI just bought this 2022 Laramie and found this wiring in the back. It looks like it connects into the tailgate wiring and runs to both sides. I assume it is for bed lighting but it doesn't look like plugs for the Mopar kit. Any insight someone can get me? Figured I might test for power later today with both the tailgate opening and the inside button.

There appears to be two aftermarket inline fuses in one of the pics , and a zip-tie wrapped around a harness in another.
Both would be something added , possibly lights for a toppper.
It appears to have some kind of topper previously as the seal strip is still on the back near the Cab. I may just remove it after I determine it hasn't been ran all the way into the cab switch. I hope they didn't splice the wires.

Chances are, if it was used for a topper, the wires go somewhere useful and might help with adding bed lighting. At a minimum, the wires might be useful to pull in new wiring for bed lights.

And, welcome.gif to Ram Forum.

If it had a topper a good guess for the two wires would be a third brake light and +12V for a light inside the topper.
Some toppers even have power lock that get tapped into the tailgate lock.

There is actually a third brake wire under the rear of the truck around the spare tire(driver side).

The interesting thing is one of the I assume positive wires run over the the passenger side as well. First I thought maybe for the OEM lights but the bed is sprayed and it looks like it was sprayed over the caps. There is another wire hanging down by the hitch with a wire spade female.

The extra wire by the hitch may have been used as a 12V connection point for the additional 3rd brake light.
