I have been looking at Moes site and I am really thinking about picking up a 3.92 gear set for my 8 spd truck and get the Mopar LSD while I am at it. I can't imagine the 3.92s with an open diff. My 3.21s have fun blasting my right tire as it is.
My questions is thus:
I have a guy who can build Ford 9s, Chevy 10/12 bolts all day and Chrysler 8.25s as well with his hand tied behind his back. My only concern is that the first time he cracked open the cover and tried to take out the differential in my last truck that had a corporate 9.25" he said he needed a special tool for the springs and that he didn't think it would be cost effective to buy it for a one or two time install of some gears. Does the new ZF differentials need the same tool for gear/diff installs? If so how much are they or does anyone have a link. The guy I am referring to owes me some work for some side work I did at his house this summer and I would like to save some dime if I can have him install the gears/LSD for free if possible and maybe just me buying this tool if it isn't much?
