I've been using a zip lock bag for years and I never had a problem. Very little to no mess at all when used correctlyI got tired of trying the ziplock bag method and failing. I just installed a PacBrake Oil Filter Relocation Kit and a Fumoto Oil Drain Valve, problem solved and no more hand contortions and mess. It made oil changes so much easier and faster. Congrats on the ziplock bag method!
Some folks need to go to ZipLock training!I've been using a zip lock bag for years and I never had a problem. Very little to no mess at all when used correctly

If that is what the rack and pinion are called now.Dont you guys have a drip tray under the filter ?
Is that a thing???Some folks need to go to ZipLock training!![]()

i think the dealer uses my frame for a drip tray.Dont you guys have a drip tray under the filter ?
After I drain the oil pan and reinstall the drain plug I remove the drain pan and use a thing called "pig-mat". Its an absorbent sheet used in the various fields to soak up fluid spills. I get it from work. I lay out a sheet on the ground under the filter just in case anything spills while I remove the filter with the zip lock bag. Usually nothing drips but on occasion some will.Dont you guys have a drip tray under the filter ?

I have Pig mats in my shop.... MAN! Are they EXPENSIVE, but do work well! After I drain the oil pan and reinstall the drain plug I remove the drain pan and use a thing called "pig-mat". After 4 carpal tunnel surgeries in my hands/wrists I would rather take the route I did with the relocation kit and fumoto valve and 100% no mess over your bs ziplock training. To each his own. Some folks need to go to ZipLock training!![]()
Yow!After 4 carpal tunnel surgeries in my hands/wrists I would rather take the route I did with the relocation kit and fumoto valve and 100% no mess or your bs ziplock training. To each his own.
No, this lil doohickey, part number (68213162AB)
(Generic Google pic, I didn't feel like crawling under there myself)
Well, it sort of goes like this ......... The stylists determine the shape of the vehicle, the Engineers determine wow to build it efficiently and so it is safe, They hand the package over to the powertrain people and say, "figure out where to put your powertrain" ............. That is about it!It is OBVIOUS that whoever designed the oil filter location, does NOT change their own oil! They make it so one performs stupid human tricks to do it! LOL
I am convinced that the people that design vehicles, make it so that there is NO easy way to complete any repairs. Mechanical or Body~
