Hey fella's

I know some of you may have read that I am really on the fence about leveling my truck. I am hesitant on leveling, cause of the stress applied to the front end suspension components. don't want to worry about having to replace suspension parts, and I don't really want to put out the money for a proper 3-4'' lift. I do love the idea of slightly lifting the truck and running 285/60/20 or 305/55/20's. I just want appearance mainly as I don't seriously off road at all. If I were to do this, then I will buy the lease out right.

I like the idea of the Zone 1.5" Body Lift, and just wanted to make sure that the suspension components of the truck will not be messed with, and everything will stay in OEM SPEC's. I am aware that I will have to have the tail pipes raised, or buy larger tips to hid the pipes.

does anyone have pictures of their trucks with ONLY a body lift installed ?.

Thanks fella's !! Merry Christmas !!

Body lift only shouldn't affect the suspension parts at all, I don't think... since it's not changing angles or components in any way? Just raising the body? But one of the hard core guys will chime in if I'm wrong on that... I think with a body lift you'll still have the factory rake (which I don't mind to be honest)...

this might not be a concern for you, but you don't need the body lift to fit 305/55/20's

Nothing suspension wise will change. I feel a body lift is more intrusive and changes more than a simple level kit. Which you can put on and remove yourself (if your done with the truck after lease)
But your exhaust tips would just be a matter of two bolts to get it to look good. There is like a little flange that you can loosen and adjust them around.

seems like a huge hassle for what you're trying to achieve. 1.5" is nothing man and you will barely even notice it. and spending the time and effort for installation wont be worth it compared to a $50 leveling spacer installed yourself. just my 2 cents

The 1.5" body lift wasnt hard to install. I have pictures but i have to post them from my phone. But to be honest i would just do the leveling kit. I did both just my 2 cents.

even if I decided to do bilstein's they would only be set at 1.4'' anyway. for warranty sake if the bilsteins caused an issue with the suspension and wasn't in oem spec, then I would be screwed.

I would rather get the body lift, install it once, then never have to worry about it. I dont want a major lit anyway. I do not go off roading, except for maybe once a year in the pocono's. I want my truck to look slightly more aggressive then the other stock Rams around my local area. Im also not looking for a much taller tire, but a wider tire. I think with the wider tire, and a small 1.5'' lift would look pretty good ! I think in the long run it is more practical for me, plus I dont have to worry about replacing CV's and Ball Joints

I also will not be installing this, as I do not have the resources nor time to do it. Easier to use my tax returns, and drop it off at my local offroad vehicle shop while im working at the firehouse lol. I dont trust myself to install many things on my vehicles.

thats my thought atleast

If your going with a BL . Might as well go 3inch. Performance accessories is the best around. And do the bilsteins in the front also. There's pics in my albums of my truck on 35's with 2.5 front level and a 3inch BL. I've since added a 1.25inch rear spacer.

These trucks look great with a 3inch bl and level kit.

Good luck. Post pics when it's done!

I wouldn't worry too much about the bils voiding your warranty. To be honest, unless you told them that they weren't stock shocks I'd be surprised if they even noticed. Also at the 1.4 setting things still look really correct in the front end. Here's mine at 1.4

I will calling the local shop today that would be doing the work to get a quote on labor for a bilstein level vs. the body lift. I'll more then likely have my decision decided today.

On a great note though... since I took care of my lady well this christmas, she gave me the thumbs up to get new tires, and lift/level the truck. come on taxes !

Should be very obvious after you get those quotes back. I was quoted up to $800 for the body lift install and only $200 for my front spacer install.

SAUSEC17 - yea you were right lol.

My jaw dropped at the price difference I was given. There is a place called " Custom Auto World " about 6/10th of a mile away from my house. They gave me a quote for the BL + Labor, and the Level + Labor.

Zone 1.5" Body + Labor = 925$

Bilstein's + Labor + Alignment = 500$

* welp guess ill be going the obvious route now. Im just alittle skeptical, about premature wear on the suspension components, but if everyone else is getting along just fine with them then I guess I can calm down a little.

lol yea man, Bilsteins or a HBS spacer is the way to go. Couple inches doesn't throw your suspension parts too far out of spec man, buddy of mine has a 2009 approaching 90k miles and has been running a HBS 2.5" level on his since day one, no signs of wear at all, still runs smooth!

Go the bilstein route first.... that's what I got. If u want pics... let me know..I got my front maxed and rear shocks replaced with a 1inch spacer. I have to get my buddy to look at the squeaking issue ( possible bushings) , but it rides and feels great.

AROD could that be cause you have to much stress on the UCA bushing ? what did you end up paying out the door for your set up ?

as i posted earlier im only looking for about 1.5"

I paid about $400 labor... not including the shocks.... I had the place where I got it installed... and everything seems fine... no stress on anything... but I'm going to get a second opinion. U can get the front bilstein and just adjust the clip on that bad boy and don't have to max it out. They are good shocks... its a lot stiffer than before. Original shocks for me felt a little too bouncy.
