yes I have the XD600.0, 75 watts per channel

I am not sure if they can run two ohm ? I would have to ask him , but wouldn't that dou8b l;e it and do 150 wqatt's per channel ?

75 Watts should be fine, but, if you find you need more power to the 6x9s, you could always bridge two channels to each one and get 200w. Don’t worry about getting 2 ohm drivers. The XD600/6 only jumps from 75 to 100 when going to 2 ohms. It also does not support bridging to 2 ohms so you would lose that option.

They'd have to be a 2ohm voice coil. It looks like they're pretty efficient so that probably won't matter. They get good reviews. The tweeters are 70w so right on the money for that amp. You're running active so they'll be turned way down. If 2 ohm was an option I'd do it. If not I wouldn't let it change your choice of speaker. I noticed the same thing as TomT on the tweeter. One that hits a bit lower frequency should improve things a fair bit.

Cool,

Gotta stay with the 1" though, They wife is already in cardiac arrest , he is giving them to me for $ 450.00.

I do think I will be good though, I was blown away by the sound of these speakers. Simply had no idea car speakers could sound this good
I am all in

My Alpine stereo major upgrade:

Money may or may not be an issue to some, but for me it is and all

things considered I went for budget / sound quality.
I did alot of web searching on different components, specs, price,

etc...

Ordered some of the things in my list (even had to return a couple do to

fitment issues) and
eventually came up with what I have now. Here's the details:

Dash speakers (corners): Infinity Kappa Perfect 300m 3.5" Mid-ranges

(center left as-is)
Front doors: CDT Audio CL-69S 6X9” mid-bass woofers
Rear doors: Infinity Reference REF-9622IX
Sub box under rear seat: (MTX dual 10" enclosure) with JL Audio 10w3's (I know, the pic shows 10w1's, but they were bought after the sketch).
Front door pillars and overhead: Hertz Energy ET 26.5 Tweeters

For processing, interfacing, and amps:

JL Audio HD 900/5 (Already had)
Kenwood Excelon XR600-6DSP
iDataLink Maestro ADS-MAR
iDataLink Maestro AR-CH2

Power distribution and wiring:

MESA AKCO 0 Gauge OFC Amp Kit
MESA FDBUQM Dual Power/Ground Distribution Kit
Stinger SHW516B-500 16GA Speaker wire
Stinger SHW512B-250 12GA Speaker wire
MESA RM6 6' M-Series Twisted RCA Cables
MESA PWCB4 4AWG OFC Power Wire
MESA RM1F2M 1F-2M M-Series Twisted Y-Adapters

Right at $2k in parts - not including what labor would cost while

retaining the stock head unit and all functionality of the factory

controls/systems.

Here's a basic layout of the system:

How do you like those kappa perfect 3.5" midranges? I have only heard good things about them. I was looking to replace my JL 3.5 C2 coaxial dash speakers with them. But i also want to check out the Hertz mille 3" midranges before I make up my mind.

Anyway to fit 4" speakers in there ?

If you mean the dash position, yes, you can fit 4” speakers in there. I have the Dynaudio Esotar 430s stuffed into mine. It’s not quite a drop-in but not too difficult.

Good to know, that opens up a lot more options on mid range drivers

Finally Ready to get this show on the road

Updated the DSR1 to latest and greatest I-Data and Rockford Firmware. Note you have to use Internet Explorer, it will not work with Edge, Firefox or Chrome. I had to call them to fin d this out after trying to update it for an hour .......

upload_2018-5-4_19-24-13.jpeg

RCA's showed up in today's mail , Just on time

upload_2018-5-4_19-25-8.jpeg

Mounting the Amp and DSR1 on a piece of 1/4" ABS. Bolting the amp down with Nylox nuts and just going to Velcro the DSR1 down so I can remove it easily for firmware updates

upload_2018-5-4_19-27-8.jpeg

Finished the wiring as far as I can go until I get the seats out and can mount it in the truck, it is going under the drivers side rear seat

Nice! You're going to like the DSR1. My audio is clean sounding from down low all the way to full volume. I wasn't sure about the whole using the factory head unit thing, but it works.

I am pumped, just the sound deadening has made a huge difference
Still have a lot to do,

Looks like I need to find a place that sells OFC 4 awg by the foot
I can get to the distribution block but won't have enough left to get to the amp

Can't wait to get this installed and start playing with the DSP portion of the unit,
Got the App downloaded to my tablet and ready to go. :favorites13:

If you have a local stereo shop, it might not be a bad idea to see if they would sell you the wire. Even better if they’re a Rockford dealer. That way you could start to build a relationship in case you run into any unexpected issues.

if they charge you more than 2 bucks a foot they are ripping you off, you can also try a best buy , their install shop will sell you wire by the foot

IMG_20180506_143908.jpg I know you're running similar set up to me amp wise. Dsr1 tucked in under the dash nicely. Can't seem to get a good picture, but here's the amp rack set up. Still have to get some ridgid felt to cover the few spots you can see wiring and dynamat, but it's almost done.

Thanks. A few more of the tedious details and I'll be happy. I know it's behind the seat and I'll never see it, but I'll know it's not as good as it could be and it'll bug me if I don't clean it up.

Yeah Im the same way. I currently just have my kicker 170 rms x 4 amp screwed to the sheetmetal behind the back seat. When i get time im going to use a 1/2" mdf board covered in black carpet, then screw that to the sheetmetal like you did.
Is your box a JL box, and shich model and size speakers are you running? Are you happy with how loud it is? Im now thinking about running one JL 10W6 under one side of teh rear seat.
