Amazing work! Are those the GB series Audiofrogs? I’ve been wanting to hear an install with those.

Thank you!! GB on the tweeters, GS on the midbass...

I've got them level matched, T/A set, some basic EQ with REW, and it sounds great. There's a certain 3 dimensional-ness to the sound that I haven't had in my previous installs.

One of these days I’m going to teach myself how to use REW. I have everything needed just haven’t been motivated enough.

I hear ya... It took a long time to force myself to learn to tune and using REW has been invaluable to me. The auto tune feature makes tuning soooo much faster and easier! Now I really enjoy it! I'll hook my battery up to the float charger and spend hours tuning and listening, in the evenings!

I’ve got a MacBook Air with REW and the Mosconi software in a VM along with the Dayton Audio mic.

Ever thought of holding a class?

Oh, I'm not that good at all. Lol. But I'm happy to pass on the little that I know... Are you on diyma?

Yes, I’m TomT over there as well. I’ve bookmarked all the how-to threads but my eyes glaze over after a few paragraphs. LOL

DavidRam, post: 1690906, member: 20213"]Here is what I just finished in a Mazda Cx-3. AudioFrog, Zapco, JL, etc.. I built the box from 3/4" birch void free plywood. Tweeter pods are made from pvc plumbing parts, with an aluminum base, wrapped in vinyl to match the dash. Amp rack is 1/4" perforated aluminum with a frosted plexiglass backing. All power and speaker cables are Knu Konceptz ofc, and rcas are Stinger 8000 series. Pretty well sound deadened with Soundskins CLD/CCF combo, Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro, Knukonceptz Kno Knoise CLD, Dynamat CCF and some generic eggcrate acoustic ****... ;)

Wow! You have come a far way. Don't get me wrong, your work has always been meticulous but that is beautiful! Nice job man! Love the customization on the iPod.

Hey, thanks a lot Craig... Btw, it's a Fiio x3 hi-res player... ;) I owe it to you for constantly encouraging me to learn to tune myself and use REW. Now I enjoy it!

The digital audio player is my current "go-to" for source... On this car, the factory HU is intact and fully functional for Bluetooth and radio listening (sound comes from the back door speakers only). The x3 is connected digitally via coax directly to the DSP and the volume is controlled via the DSP's remote volume knob. I will never again connect aftermarket audio to factory HUs, OR replace the HU. I love how this functions!

The hi-res quality output, one less digital/analog conversion and one less source of clipping, are just a bonus. ;)

Oh that's right, you were using the Fiio before. I looked into them at one point and was very tempted but ended up going with an afternarket hu. My next truck I'll probably go a similar route with the Fiio / DSP and maintain factory functionality. Pretty clean that way. It will be some time though. The miles are pretty low on my truck with the bulk of the miles coming from towing my boat, my real passion! ;)

Fantastic work as always. You and Etroze got me into active setups. No going back. Couple questions though... the egg crate foam, is that moisture proof? And that fiio, there really a big difference between that and highest quality mp3? I'm in a vw gti now and swapping the deck isnt really an option. Its got gauges and car info that maestro cant deal with.
