Four downfiring 8's wouldbeb sick, and, still retain a ledge to put bags,etc on top.

Plus, be hidden. Then, just a thought, put mirror on very bottom with a light switch hooked to interior...so when you turn on interior light, a neon light reflects the 8" subs via the mirrors.

Guys, I hate to disappoint, but I think I am gonna stick with the two 12s plan...

The four 8s sounds great, but it adds about 30% to the cost and it makes finding a box that much harder, which means going custom and more time and stress... I am gonna **** out on that one! Lol!

I want to make a final decision on the subs and box and have everything on order by Monday. I'll probably go over and talk to the guys at 310creations on Monday, and see what they have to say and talk about installation.

So no love for the Helix subs?? Am I being a baby for worrying about the SI subs after my chat with Nick??

I did some reading about JL subs and it sounds like they are great for big bass, but no mention of sound quality...

The sound quality is much more important to me than just loud bass.

Hey its the owner giving you the heads up its your call. I wouldn't be afraid of them but that's me. The Fi is a great sub but to find the depth will be really hard

That is what I am thinking, too. I just really like how their boxes look, I wonder if I can buy just the enclosure without the sub?

I definitely haven't written SI off, they were my "first love"! I think it is between those and the Helix. I am still looking for more write-ups and reviews on the Helix... But there are plenty of great things to read about the SIs!

BradK has one, do you know if he had to do much to dial it in?

Honestly, I do NOT want to have to do any tuning myself. I want to have someone install it, tune it and I drive away with nothing more to do, but enjoy it!

You could carpet this one or build one that style, you have all the mounting depth you could dream of.

It is a nice design and it would look very natural if it was carpeted to match the truck.
