I know that the Redline doesn't require any additive for the LSD. Are you adding any or running the Redline straight out of the bottle? Thanks again!!

I didn't add any to my 14 Anti-spin Differential aka LSD. Just the Redline .

I drove to a parking lot and did about 10 R/H & L/H full lock tight turns to verify no chatter . All was good .

Hope this helps!

Amsoil is another good choice. No extra additives needed.

I'm running Amsoil Signature for my engine but my understanding is that their differential oil requires an additive for the LSD (unless they have a new oil).

Your dif will tell you if it needs an additive, if it starts to shudder then you add, if it doesn't shudder then you don't.

I have 50k on my 2013 4x4 truck and never changed differential oil. What's the recommended change interval?

I'd have to look at the owners manual , don't quote me but I believe it was 30-40 k , your probably fine , but if I were you I'd go ahead and do both diffs , transfer case and xsmn now . This way you know you have all new fluids @ 50k ....

I just ordered the Amsoil SEVERE GEAR 75W-140 for my 4x2 RAM 1500. I'm being a little **** and will do the first diff change at about 15,000 miles. The manual states 30,000 miles for "severe service".

If you are a member over at Bob's Pablo will hook you up for pricing that isn't much more than the Walmart SuperTech 75W-140. That is a no-brainer.

Nothing wrong with doing it early. It's always good to get that break in wear metals out early...

I think I'll pull the cover. They don't have the gasket on Rock Auto so I guess I'll run by the dealer.

Thanks for the write-up.... useful information in terms of hex nut size.

Especially important for those that have the Anti-Spin/Anti-Slip/Limited-Slip.

Which seem to become more worthless over time. Clean Fresh gear oil will only help prolong the proper function of the unit.

I feel these need to have more frequent service intervals compared to the regular Open Differentials.?

Guys just a short video! Don't skimp on your gear oils if you care about your expensive investment!! I found these videos very interesting! Maybe some of you will as well!

I know most of us will never see temps that cold but just temps in the teens and just below zero will drastically change the properties of the gear oil.

Great videos! So I'm a bit confused, 75w90 keeps the diff cooler than 75w140? I always thought it was the other way around...

Unless I missed something, the question was on differentials and not transmissions.

Thanks for the reply! However I was referring to the differential.

Regards!

Most MagHytec diff covers approximately double the fluid capacity of the stock cover
