There is a guy near me that specialises in tuning Dodges. He will take care of the dyno tuning duties i do believe using a Diablo tuner. As for the transmission, i will run it until it blows then i will check my options. I was recommended a transmission builder by a member of this site so may go that route.

For your PCV option the only way to set up a catch can for you will be to drill into the valve cover and set it up that way. There's a DIY somewhere on this site for it I believe.

It looks that way. I will search the site for the DIY for tips and ideas. Thanks

Today
I installed the air filters. They sit about 2 inches away from the hood scoop opening
I already know how i am going to enclose the filters, i am just waiting for some 6inch aluminum tubing i ordered to show up. I did some more of the cold side today as i received the missing couplers, but forgot to order some 3"t-bolt clamps so i could not fisnish. I then move on to the exhaust. I took the truck to my friends shop as he let me use on of his lifts to work on that. I used dual 3" tubing (one form each downpipe) merging onto a single 4". I did not take pics because i finished very late, i was tired, and i honestly i forgot :-D , but to give you an idea, it follows the same path as the oem tubing, just a little bigger and with vbands. I will try to get under and take some pics tomorrow.
I have yet to decide which muffler to run or how to route the tailpipes. Though i can tell you that i would really like to reuse the Daytona/Borla exhaust tips, but we will see.
As always, a few pics. These are from before i went to work on the exhaust

hey, sorry guys, but no updates today.
Unfortunately I did not get to do any work on the truck today as we started the day with rain around my area. I will try to squeeze in some work on the truck during the week. I want to get this finished already and getting it tuned!
I will keep you updated

That's what I have been hearing. To tell you the truth, if he wasnt local to me, I probably would have never started this project. That's how much faith I have on the guy and his abilities :)

AJ will get it done. I know plenty of guys running his tunes in their vehicles. He's one of the best around.

Cool man. Too bad you won't have it done by Nov 7. You could take it to Atco in Nj. The Modern Street Hemi Shootout is that day and he will be there.

I really need to stop doing this across multiple forums, lol. What are you running for a trans? That will be your weak point in this whole process unless you've swapped in a manual.

I have found some things in this truck which lead me to believe that the previous owner had some form of power adder at sometime or another (forged, 1 piece pushrods, 4.56 gear in the rear only eventhough the truck is 4x4, Manley pistons, etc) and for that reason I will run the transmission that is in it hoping that it has had some work done to it. If it holds good, if it blows then I will check my options for a built auto or swapping in a manual.

Talking about Manley pistons, i had someone tell me that this year truck (2005) came with Manley pistons from the factory, is that accurate??

They did not come with FORGED pistons from the factory, Manley made the early hemi hyper-eutectoid pistons. You might be lucky and have some other mods in the vehicle but I would not hope for forged pistons or a built 545rfe, especially in your year of truck. All the pushrods are 1 piece but it would be nice if they are a forged set, that would be an indicator of a cam job or they dropped an exhaust valve due to spring failure which was common and upgraded at that time.

To keep the trans alive in its current form will take some educated driving skills and luckily with turbos or a centrifugal blower they are easier on the trans. No WOT kickdown, roll into the throttle on launch, and keep an eye on the trans temp. My recommendation for a built 545rfe are get in touch with L&M customs in Delaware, he built and programmed my trans and it's lived behind my engine for 2.5 years now. I'm an aggressive but conscious driver which means I am heavy on the skinny pedal but know what not to do to my trans and I've kept 2 of them alive behind fairly stout engines.

Hey man, thanks for the advice. I am very new to Dodges, so any words of advice are welcomed.
I have to make a correction the pistons the truck has are Mahle (not Manley) cast pistons and they have the chrysler logo on them. As I had mention on an early post I took a peek into one of the cylinders thru a spark plug hole using an inspection camera and saw that the piston are thermal coated, so that's a plus :)
