So loaded up the family this afternoon, headed to Lowes to get some stuff and my oldest son says "dad, there is water dripping from your roof"...I turn around and sure enough, dripping from the rear window, and onto the seat. Anyone else have this problem? I guess I am headed back to the dealership...

It's the third brake light. Butyl rubber or silicone and you should be good to go.

Another vote for 3rd brake light. Do a search and you will see a number the threads on the issue. Luckily, it is an easy fix.

What's up with all these 3rd brake light cases? I'm pretty sure mine leaks as well, but I've seen this discussed quite a bit from the Dodge RAM's to the RAM's and even the F-150's. Is RAM not taking care of this or is the seal change their fix?

My 15 hasn't leaked yet! But all these story of them leaking it's just a matter of time for it to start I'm sure.
I don't think i should be fixing the leak by changing the seal myself I believe the dealership service should be doing this.
Has anyone had their seal replaced without it leaking first?

That would be like going to the dealer and saying "Btw, while my motor has no issues now, but can you just replace it cause I have heard about a few of them breaking on the forum I'm on and just want to be sure I wont have a problem". :roflsquared:

The issue is that even though it gets replaced, it is just replaced with another ****** seal.

It's very easy to do, there's no reason to take it to dealer. It can be done in less than 10 minutes.

and jhorst it's the 3rd brake light. Mine did the same thing and it was a lot worse..

I replaced the seal the same day I bought my truck. Only took about 5 minutes. Ripped off the pathetic seal from the light assembly and replaced it with much thicker weatherstrip.

When I found mine leaking (at under 4k miles mind you), I called it in to the dealer & they openly told me that all they would do is apply silicon - said that was what FCA instructed them to do.

I declined & replaced the seal myself with off-the-shelf automotive weather-stripping.

Do you have a link or more information on which seal you used?

Mine leaked all over and soaked my backseat the first rain after I brought the truck home('14 2500). I'm talking a couple hundred miles on the truck. It's obvious they're not fixing it and they come from the factory like that.

Took it off, ran a strip of Butyl I had from when I did my headlights and I haven't had a problem since and it's been over a year.

I too have this annoying leak on my 2014 2500. I tried the same weather stripping from Home Depot and I am still leaking. I do not have a sunroof so I would think it is the brake light. I now have duct tape around the light to see if the leak goes away before I continue. Very disappointed that Dodge would allow this quality to leave their dealer.
