I am going to change my stock 6 speakers for kickers with no amp or sub and stock 8.4 screen. Should I use the 6x9 ks or CS series speakers? Are the ks the same depth as the cs? And should I use the tweeters or the 3.5 for the dash? I was told I had to run a new wire for the tweeters. I don't know much about audio but I am mechanical. The stock speakers are terrible and I just want a bit better sound.

I had the 6x9 ks and just recently swapped them out for the mopar kicker kit and sounds a lot cleaner with the factory non alpine system.

Which kit did you get, the front doors and dash or the one with the sub and everything?

The dash and front doors. 77kick28ab was the kit number.

That kit comes with tweeters, is that a better option that replacing the 3.5's with something equivalent?

The factory dash speakers are "tweeters", they have a crossover capacitor built on to them. The door and dash speakers are also wired in parallel with each other. The 77KICK28ab are a huge improvement over the stock speakers.
If you decide to run some other 3.5" speakers in the dash, you'll need to add some impedence matching resistors or crossover for them.

Gotcha. So with that door and dash kick all I'll need is another set of 6x9's for the back doors and maybe the Kicker sub, all running off the stock 8.4 without the need for any amp?

Yeap, have that set up in mine. I used the Kicker Hideaway sub and have it behind the rear seat, I didn't want to lose the storage room under the back seat. You can use the 77KICK41 for the rear doors.

So, do the fronts and rears match ohm’s? With the fronts in parallel, are they 4 or 2 ohm?

Do you think the doors need a baffle?

I was thinking of doing a 3-way system up front with a 2 or 3” mid in the dash with the tweeter in the sail. I was worried about the tweeter bouncing off the windshield

I keep looking into upgrading to these kickers but there are so many different part numbers/combo's it's confusing? Some kits come with mid range 6x9's for the doors and tweeters in the dash (77kick28ab). Some are 2-way door, 3.5 dash. There is another kit that says it fits my truck but has 3 3.5's for the dash which sounds like replacements for the premium system(82215415)?
There doesn't appear to be a option that includes all 6 speakers. 77kick41 is 2 extra 2-way 6x9's that some use for the rear door but are labeled front door speakers (I know they are the same size, just confusing on which would be the right combo)

If you have the 6 speaker base audio system and want to use the 77KICK upgrades:
Fronts: 77KICK28ab
Rears: 77KICK41

To add an optional subwoofer, use the Kicker Hideaway. It can be mounted behind the back seat and the hardest part of the install is finding the rear speaker wiring. All the wiring is included.

If you plan on using component speakers, only the door wiring will be any use to you. You'll also have to pull new wiring from the doors up to the dash if your going to put the mids in the dash.
Like I stated above, the factory (and 77KICK28ab) dash speaker is a crossovered tweeter.

I've had both the Kicker 77kick set ups and am now running the CS Series speakers all the way around with an Alpine F50 amp. I've tried the dash speakers amped, ran them off the head unit and currently have them disconnected. The 3way Kickers have enough hi's and lows that I just don't see a need for the dash speakers, in either confit I've ran them they end up to bright for my taste. I'm running the 77kick28ab in my work truck with Fact Ryan head unit and no amp, plenty of sound just not loud.

Look around in this forum, there's enough here on stereo's to confuse anyone. Consider what your looking to get out of the system and what your willing to have and not have i.e., the factory head unit, steering wheel controls and the like. Remember that once you start, it's hard to stop wanting more..

^ That is the truth. I know a lot of audio stuff is very subjective but it's hard to make heads or tails out of what works best for me (you).
I had bought a pair of infinity 3.5" to throw in the dash a while back because I read several posts that said they were a great upgrade. Not for me, WAY too bright for the dash. They over powered everything else so I put the stocks back in.
Some say the kicker upgrade is awesome and others say it suffers from the same issue with too much brightness in the front.

What to do, what to do?

Just to be clear, the 77KICK44 setup requires you to lose the folding table thing thing under the rear seat? The instructions say to remove the plastic storage cover but I don't have any plastic storage cover in my 18 Sport.

Also, I had the Alpine system in my 15 Sport and I had the folding table thing under the rear seats if I remember correctly.

Do the Kicker require the Metra adapters? I think I'm going to pickup both front and back sets and call it a day.

The 77kick kits all come with the factory style plugs so it's just plug and play.

Kicker CS 6x9 will work fine as long as you get a 1/4" spacer for the front doors. I had kicker CS all around in my 2010 Sport and they were awesome. In fact, I still have them (pulled them out when I traded the truck in) along with my dual 10" subs in Atrend fibre glass box. Not sure what I'll do with all of them now but I wasn't about to give them all away.

I want to get the Kicker sub box but not if it means losing the foldout table thing under the rear seat, can anyone confirm?
