Hope to stay with my 2015 for 10 years, but It could bee way to expensive when the ******* in the Swedish goverment jack up all taxes round cars and trucks... roadtax is now at $626/y for my RAM. New 2019 trucks have almoust tripple that... Gas is "cheap" now at $6.26/G. This summer it was up at $7.1/gallon :(

I believe I would, although my truck is only 1.5 years old and I tend to hang onto everything for a long time. I had my last truck 9 years.

I will have to see what they look like and what they offer when it comes time.

Depends, of course, on the competition at the time of my next purchase. But if I needed one today, the answer would be yes.

Would you buy a new 5th gen ram with the new tech on it? Heat exchanger system that mechanically heats the diffs and trannies, eTorque mild hybrid system, electric e brake, electronic lockers, and all the other stuff that comes with 4 gens such as shifter nobs, mds, vvt etc etc. Keep in mind I assume we all are truck guys, so assuming you have to buy a truck, if not ram then what? Or would you fix up an old truck? Does all this new tech make you nervous for longevity? Do you prefer to have options whether or not you get all of these features, like a model that didn't have tech on it and was bare bones truck like we had in the

60's and 70's?[/QUOT

Wouldn't buy a 5th. gen truck. FCA needs to work out all the kinks first. But I'd sure as hell buy a 4th. gen Ram.....I have a 4th. gen. A 2015, and it`s been boringly reliable. My 3rd. gen Ram, again, boringly reliable. Heck, 165,000 miles and it was still on it`s original exhaust and battery

I personally would not buy one of the 5th gen rams at this time. Not because of all of the new tech, but because I don't care for the way they look. This could change in the future as when the 4th gen Ram came out I did not care for the look of them. I do like the interior, but in my opinion the exterior of the Ram has gone downhill. That being said, I would buy another 4th gen Ram. I think that the 4th gen Ram's are one of the best looking trucks out there. Also, this ram is the 2nd one that I have owned, the first being a 2007 Ram that I bought brand new. Still have it and it gets driven almost every day. The only problems that I ever had out of it was the water pump went out at about 120,000 miles, and the front drivers side wheel bearing assembly broke at about 160,000 miles. I was only out about $150 to fix both problems! I have only had my 2015 Ram for about 7 months and have had no mechanical issues with it at all. I did have a problem with the vents on the rear of the cab leaking, but my dealership fixed that for me at no cost.

I have an 11 and a 16. Both CC and 4x4. One 6, one 8 speed xmsm. 16 rides better, 11 runs better.

As to 19, no thanks, will move to a 2500 6.4 or CTD next truck, hopefully a low miles 18.

Don't like the tech, don't want the tech. If I'm in the truck im driving, no fking with the radio, Bluetooth, nav or anything else.

My truck uses are driving hauling and towing. If I'm not doing that and it's over 30 degrees and not snowing, I'm on the motorcycle.

I definitely understand how you gents feel about the 5th gen and I agree about the tech. With that being said they do make a Tradesman that when done right keeps the tech away and allows you to play lol.da0e17fc0ee61bc29667a371cd13d371.jpg

2017 Rebel, 22K miles. No issues with the truck except a water leak around the back sliding window which was repaired by the body shop. I pull a 22.5' bay boat. The 5.7 does an excellent job pulling the boat. Plenty of power. There was a 2018 Power Wagon on the lot that I fell love with. So I would say yes,,

I wouldn't buy another RAM past the 2012 model... And even then, there are quite a few things I miss about my '98 RAM! There is not one single "feature" that I like about the over computerized, impossible to work on, grocery getters that RAM is producing these days... I drive a truck because I drive a truck... If I wanted some cushy, seat-heated, pampered vehicle, I would have just kept my father's Mercedes...

TRUCK... not an oversized SUV...

The Heavy-Duty’s aren’t like that. Well, they are, just on a certain degree, but they still oughta be more than enough “truck” for ya.

I hope you’re talking about the 1500’s because that’s pretty much all those are these days, are just SUV’s with pickup beds. But still- if you don’t want “some cushy, seat-heated, pampered” truck, I guess you won’t be getting Limited, or a Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Sport.... Rebel....

A friend of mine bought a new stripped down long bed, regular cab 1500 the same week I bought my longhorn.
I asked him why he didn't get a couple of nicer options on it and he said "I don't need no pussified grocery getter, I need a truck".

A couple of weeks ago we all went to dinner in my "Pussified Grocery Getter" and he and his wife both were talking about how awesome my truck is and how they should have gotten a little bit nicer truck with a few more creature comforts.

Funny thing is....We both use our trucks for the same kinds of stuff and my "Pussified Grocery Getter" does everything his "Truck" does, but mine is way nicer to drive around in.

I didn't contribute to the poll, because it depends on a couple of things.
"IF" Ram ever fixed all the stupid little recalls and my biggest gripe,....the MDS, then yes, I would most likely buy another Ram. (I absolutely hate the MDS on my 2016 Ram Sport.)
If not, then highly unlikely.

Isn’t your 2016 able to be tuned with tuner without having to buy an unlocked computer?

But hell- if I hated that MDS on mine bad enough; and if I wasn’t under lifetime warranty, I’d just buy the unlocked computer and a tuner and shut the **** off.
