How would one go about changing the Vin number in the u connect? For some reason i can't find it. Likely just hidden somewhere I'm Sure I seen it. Just can't find it.

AlfaOBD has a selection for VIN Write under the Radio/Integrated Center Stack module.

Without something like that I dont think there is a way just using the truck's UI. And Im not sure anyone has even tried Alfa to do that, so tread lightly I guess.

WTF! I was just thumbing through the shared configurations to see what's what before buying -- I just say this. If this is what I think it is, that would be awesome!

Side Mirror Repeaters used as side markers: Not set

Sorry, it does nothing on our trucks. :( The only thing we haven't been able to test is if it does anything on a 3500 Dually with the little marker lights on the extended fenders for the rear wheels.

I can see where the VIN is listed in the config readout, but I have not seen anything that would allow changing it.

Nothing can be done with those. They are just extension of the parking/cab light wiring. It was discussed in cummins forum

Correct. All those side markers, the light on the tailgate, and the cab lights are all spliced to the same feed circuit directly on the PDC.

Ok so after much research it would be possible to do the bcm swap to get srt performance pages. Cool yes but not worth the effort as I was more or less thinking I could select track Mode, launch control and other things through this Unfortunately I'd need the srt pcm as well. But then on top of that I'd need to spend another 500+ on an unlock for the pcm to change parameters and still wouldn't know if it would work 100% I have a feeling it is doable but at this point my mastercard sponsorship is about up and they want payment lol. On the up side an srt steering wheel with paddles isn't so far out of grasp. I notice on alpha that paddles are an available option and steering wheel button remaping is there as well. [emoji16] I better cool off dodge is gonna have me on the black list soon!

I wish dodge had a programmer like efi live. I'd like to see if the programming paramaers (Injecror rates, timing etc) is the same between. The 5.7 6.1 and 6.4 if it was it could be possible to get an srt 8 pcm and swap it then just get a tuner to change the cylinder volume to a 5.7. I've done lots of tuning with efi live on gm vehicles and the 4.8 5.3 and 6.0 engines all share the exact programming! Only differences is cylinder volume. Once that's close enough maf and 02 sensors do the rest. I could be barking up the wrong tree don't get me wrong but I think if a guy wanted the options Alfaobd and a good tuner like hemi fever or Jay Green could definately make things come Together.
I wouldn't mind trying it.

Hey guys! Here are a couple videos using my crappy android phone. It's able to pick up the pulses with it's photo sensor.

Note that PWM being enabled just makes LED's flicker. It doesn't NECESSARILY mean you'll get a bulb out warning or have a circuit shut down, although you 100% CAN have that happen! For example, fogs and reverse lights seem to not generate any warnings. LED License Plate bulbs can. Interesting indeed!

These are with PWM (Pulse With Modulation) active and inactive based upon the settings in AlfaOBD. Enjoy!

PWM with LED Fog Bulbs on 2017 Ram 2500. LED fogs not enabled in body controller:

PWM disabled with LED Fog Bulbs on 2017 Ram 2500. LED fogs enabled in body controller:

PWM with LED Reverse Bulbs on 2017 Ram 2500. LED Reverse not enabled in body controller:

Footnote: I had been using a set of these to stop the pulses to the Fog Lamps and they worked great. I've since removed them, of course.

Does setting this turn off the "bulb out" warning??

CBC Configurable Inputs and Outputs:
Low Beam Output Present: Set

I think that would disable your low beams entirely. I want to say that you need the Low Beam DTC Enable setting, but I can't seem to find one. There's a DTC setting for everything else, just not that. Anyone recall where the low beam setting is hideing?

Ok guys not sure what has happened. I might have bricked my BCM
Changed my TPMS threshold the other day no prob. Started the truck today all good moved it out side to get better reception. I went in to try and down load settings to Google drive. It would not connect again. Could not get out so just closed the program.
When i went to go key up the truck it said push clutch to start instead of push brake.
Now it wont start.

I go to faults it has one for the bcm U0100
Lost communication thats it.
The ABS has a few but the biggest is
C2206 configuration mismatch.

When i do a log check there are no changes listed.
I just printed off the 2017 BCM list
Off the 1st post along with my Current BCM list. I guess i will compair them line by line.
Not sure what could have happened I didn't make any changes other than TPMS threshold.

Try disconnecting the battery for a while?

Connect to the abs module and clear the faults then perform abs initialization.

Ok guy i just went thru all the pages pf the 2 truck configs and the only difference I found was the CHMSL camera and CHMSL led that is on my truck.
While I was reading I had the Batteries disconected. Hooked the batteries back up. Read and cleared all the codes and it started back up!!!
I think I soiled my pants lol...
I think I will just stay with my TPMS threashold adjustment at the moment a little gun shy to start changing things.
I assume it just got confused or corrupted with the non proper shut down of Alfa??
Is there a correct way to navigate or shut down before disconnecting. I appologize guys if I am asking some dumb questions like i said I'm new to this teck stuff.
I apreciate all the great help!!

I've had my app crap out on me before and just force closed it without issue, and I've made quite a few more changes than you have. Could just be a one-off bug.

I always just connect to the truck from my front room by the garage, no key on or anything, and when I’m done I just hit the back button a couple times until it asks “exit alfaobd app?” I’ve never really done it any other way, so not sure what would happen if you just pulled the Bluetooth interface or something like that mid app after making a change.

Hello from Texas, 2013 Ram sport 5.7 4WD. Been watching and jumped in head first to make changes.
Yes. What he said! I've made a few adjustments or activations with success so far on a windows laptop.
Added the trailer brake controller. Shows in DIC
High beam drop out
DRL, Can't verify if it took
SRT just to see it,. Cool. went back to stock
LED licence plate (yes) still get licence plate bulb out in DIC
Also get the fuel cap warning. swapped cap last year but....

Plan to add rear seat heaters.
Cargo cam
Front parking sensors
or front cam

Wanted to make sure the log out or close program procedure is clear.

Thanks and Cheers!! JD

Yeah thats how I've done it strange.
At least it runs again!
So in theory as long as I have a log of the module I'm making changes in I should be able to do a log check and see all the changes I have made correct? Then from that change back whatever doesnt match if things don't go as planned. Is there any reason why a change in say the body controller would force a change in another controller?

I’ve personally not run into anything that could not be reverted back, and I’ve been doing some ballsy things lately trying to get a new RF Hub programmed.
Someone on cumminsforum today also had a similar situation as you and I had him do the abs initialization to fix it. He ended up inputting a tire size with a decimal. I guess the main thing is, know what you’re changing and don’t panic if something happens. When you panic, you start hitting things you don’t know and don’t remember what you did.
