Unless I’m just missing it, which is possible, I do t see anything for lows & highs. I see the info for park/turn and for tire size changes.

If you are adding hid's or led's the only setting you need to change is VehConfig 3 high intensity discharge lights, set that to enable. You don't need to change low/high to led

Hey y’all! Wow I have been reading every post on here for the last couple days and there is a ton of information. I just decided to order the Alpharex Chrome G2 series with Top and Bottom DRL and Sequential turns directly from Alpharex. After using a coupon I saw online I paid around $390. I remember when the discussion about the G2 series came out I believe it was @crash68 who said he went with Gen 1 because of the chrome due to his white Laramie. When I ordered these I messaged Alpharex to make sure I was getting what I wanted and they said they updated their specs to now include a chrome version of the G2.

Just waiting for those to ship. Then I saw all the posts about HID vs. LED. Leaning towards the Innovited or DDM 55watt HID kit for lows and Hikari H7 Ultra for hi’s. Quick question what are y’all running for your fogs??

The regular Hikari LEDs (not the Ultras and about half the price). The 9006 LEDs will only fit if you have the vertical foglights though...

One other thing. After doing what seems like hours of research it seems that because I have an '18 RAM I have to buy the bypass module, then a OBDII Max and AlphaOBD software. Is this all I need for the LED lights to not throw error codes. Are there any led bulbs that I can buy that already have a decoder or are canbus friendly? I know the price range for led bulbs can go from $-$$$ but I'm not concerned with that. I just want the best bang for my buck and least headache possible.

Yes all you'll need is the security bypass cable, obdlink mx and alphaobd. You may have to make some additional changes to get the errors to go away but once you have everything in hand we can figure it out. Once you set VehConfig 3 high intensity discharge lights to enabled with alphaobd you'll be able to run any hid or led kit without errors.

Quick question for all the lighting regulars here (I'm no lighting expert) ...

For those running hikari, katana, or similar LED bulbs with rear cooling fan, how do they hold up on the Foglights considering there isn't a dust cover on the back of the fog light housing behind the bumper? (Rain, under vehicle spray at car wash, corrosion, etc).

* I have 1500 with 9006 vertical fogs.

M² Mods.

My Hikari 9006 bulbs have been in for 1 year now and haven't failed yet but I mainly use them for back roads, inclement weather and highway driving.

They get sprayed at the car wash every tank of gas...

Ok, guys and gals...reaching out again because I’m close to giving up. I can’t get rid of the B16BF Parking Light Out error. Closest I’ve got is only getting it when lights or parking lights are on and I use directional. I tried changing settings to the suggestions by @1500ram12 but it did not work. I’ve contacted AlphaRex and he is suggesting I try disconnecting the load resistor if simple Alfa LED Park/marker and LED turn signals changes didn’t work. Thoughts? Reaching out to @koblesCar and @SitKneelBend because I know they are both running G2s.

Do you currently have resistors in?

I would try disconnecting that and see what happens.

Ok. I hate pulling everything apart, but it’s worth a try.

Side note, in case this is any help. I’m still playing with settings as I post. I’ve returned all the settings to factory. If I have just the LED turn lamps setting on, I only get error code when lights are on and I use directional. As soon as directional goes off, error goes away. If I have LED turn lamps and LED park/marker lamps on, I get error as soon as I turn headlights on and the error stays until I turn off headlights.

I know it's a pain. I've gotten to the point where it takes me about a minute to get them out.

Do you have VehConfig 3 high intensity discharge lights enabled?

Try turning led turns off and parking on and see what happens

Then increase the voltage on the turn/park up to 12.2v

No on the HID. I changed that back and the voltages back. But I was wondering...do you think I should maybe change the voltage to the rear lights? I tried putting them to 12.2 and it made it worse. Should I try going back to your previous suggestions and maybe doing rears to 14? The are stock at 13

BTW - I greatly appreciate your advice and help. This is super frustrating on my side but at least I have solid advice coming.

Try turning hid back on after removing the resistors. A theory is that these lights may use more power than the halogens and the increased voltage to the turn/parks works like a resistor. I was having the same issue as you. When the headlights were on I'd get a turn signal out message. I installed resistors for a while while chrisbh17 and I tossed ideas around. What worked for me was what I posted. I also think that once the resistors are out and use the settings I posted you should be good. If not we'll figure what works for your truck. Another though was having high and/or low's set to led also effects the turn/park lights in a negative way

Apologies, mine just worked without making any setting changes. I had factory quads and no errors after installing.

At one point, I had all LED features turned on and that is when I couldn’t pinpoint the problem. It was all over the place, retiring randomly

Reading this thread, it sounds like there are a lot of configs used bc the trucks all respond differently.

It's weird but it does seem that every truck responds differently to upgrades
