Currently have a 2015 sport, and the factory fogs are pretty useless. Trying to figure out which method might be best.

A. Upgrade to LED bulbs in the factory housing (would prefer a yellow fog). I dont think I need to go HID?
B. Aftermarket yellow LED pods in the factory location.

If A - which brand bulb.
If B - is there is a clean install kit that allows for using the factory on/off button?

Not looking for spend $600 on fog lights. Id rather save that money for upgrading to HID headlamps.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I would upgrade to an LED lamp in the factory fog lamp housings. I use the Sylvaina 9006 High Performance White ZEVO LED lamps in my truck and they are definitely an upgrade compared to the original halogen lamps.

For my customers who want and like the yellow LED fog lamps I use 9006's from Diode Dynamics. Here is the link to the lamps...

I have Piaa Ion yellow halogens, I like them but they are not "true JDM Yellow.

If I was to go LED I would do the Diode Dynamics yellow in the stock housing for sure.

I have VLED’s 9006 5K LED for my fogs (match headlight color). Plug & play, no resistors or anything special needed. Much brighter than the factory glass bulbs. I only use them when it’s overcast or foggy.

Looking at these makes me want to try the H7 low beam bulbs in my Alpharex projectors. They are available in 5k color as opposed to the 6500k most leds are (like the Katana I have now). I also have the Morimoto LED fogs and the output from them is abysmal. I have been thinking about going to led bulbs in my factory fogs, and these would match the lows if I got both sets. Only hang up I have is $170 is a tough pill to swallow for a bulb no one has tried yet.

I’m running 5K Micro (blue box first pic) in my low beam and 6K Extreme (red box) in my high beam (quad reflector headlight). Very happy with output & beam pattern. For projector style headlights they recommend extreme and they claim it will be better than 35W HID’s.

I put these in 2 weeks ago, awsome awsome awsome!!!
Oriented correctly these when white are really bright and highlight the sides really well. Turn em off then on again and the yellow is bright too. Havent run into any fog yet to really appreciate the yellow

TIL they make something like that, pretty cool. output is on the lower side but guess you sacrifice some lumens from each led to have them both on there.

I'll check these out. I know yellow is better for fog, but I upgraded my heads to LED and don't like the color difference now so I want to go whiter.

Interesting. Do you find them brighter than factory? If so I might actually grab these instead i like that idea. Also what color do they default too? I'd assume white

No matter what pay for the good LED ones that are optically correct for a halogen housing.

Otherwise the light scatter will be blinding all the other drivers.

They are definately brighter than stock. I didnt take any pics but will tonight or 2morro.
If you have them on as yellow and turn them off when u turn on again they will be white.

U dont want too bright in yellow/fog, light just reflects off the fog. Thats why yellow is better in rain or fog

Make sure the actual led is facing right and left - 9 and 3 not 11 and 5 or 12 and 6

Curious about their long term reliability, I was actually about to order these yesterday and saw they are back ordered til late April. I've tried two other brands with the dual function (3000k/6000k) and they were both fine for a few weeks and then developed a flicker I couldn't get rid of, even with alfa. Not a big deal as I have a backup set that work great (single mode 6000k though), and I've gotten full refunds on each set. If yours are still working without issue I'll try these out when they are available again.

Do you have any pictures of the bulb and output?

My only concern is from what I have seen/read, the LEDs with the flat end on them like these do not work particularly well in projectors. The LEDs that are shaped like the Katana LED (flat through the end) work better in projectors from my understanding. Pics attached for reference.

I have the Katana currently, and aside from the 6500k blue color, they are great. I think a similar light at a 5000k would project much better and offer better lighting in the distance, I'm just concerned about the design in a projector. I could be completely wrong though.
