Fascinated with BW bugs. My first was a 63 and lowered it to the floor and put a 1913 in it if I remember correctly. Hauled freakin ass. Like this, if it was pre 67 model. Those late 60's models+ just don't compare to their predecessors.

My first was a 64. Same thing had it slammed, recaro seats, thumpin stereo, sway-away kit, TransForm transaxle, 1776 built to the hilt with dual 48's. I could pull the front end off the ground. It got stolen and the shell was dumped in the forest. Sad day.... And I agree, anything after 66 was a beetle not a bug and was for posers..

Hell yeah, those were fun cars. My best friend had the 1776 with duals. Another one of my buddies had built many of them, ragtops, convertibles, oval split windows, etc ..Craziest build he very did had something like a 2400cc engine in it. I think to this day he still owns a couple of them. I wish I still had mine. Looked into getting one a few years ago and they now cost like 10x what they did back in the 90's, so scratched that idea.
