Accutune came back to me today told me the Fox shocks i ordered won't be ready until mid-late October and that's shipping from Fox to them. I'm not going to wait 5 months to get shocks. I asked to see if there is anything we can do with a set of Kings otherwise i want a full refund. Damn it.
Have you considered going with longer rod ends on your existing kings? If anything it will save you some money rather than all new shocks.. I’m sure they have them on the shelf over at King.

The OE shocks have eyelet welded to the shaft. What are the length spec on your shocks? I guess I can go longer and get straps like you did.

how did you mount the straps ? Are they plug and play? Or would I need to weld something ?

Switched out the honeycomb insert to the horizontal slats. That was the initial plan all along. I think it came out good, just the look I was aiming for.

Final result, 2500 hood, grill and slats.

Oh that’s right they are welded on. The ones I have are 30 extended 18 compressed.
For the straps I made bolt on brackets. straps I bought were originally 16”, now stretched they measure 16 3/4”. Now debating whether or not to buy the 17” straps or make a longer mount.

Drove it to work again today and then again tomorrow.
Would like to wash it this weekend. We'll see how it goes with time constraints. :mad3: :insane: lol

I'm sure I missed it, but why swap to the 2500 hood?
Unique mod that a lot of trucks don’t have and honestly it looks pretty nice even with keeping the 1500 bumper.

I wouldn’t have thought it’d line up but it does.

Mostly the styling. I also like the R/T hoods as well, but whenever see a 2500/3500 I cant help but to think..... "Wow, that hood looks great on that Ram" Wonder why it was never offered on the 1500's? Did multiple searches and found lots of interest and those inquiring about doing a swap, but could never find evidence that one had actually been done.

I like the fact that it also sits slightly higher which will give me some room in the engine bay for some ideas I have coming up, and having the room would be a plus.

Thanks. I'm pleased as well.

Yes, the body lines match-up and flow as Ram intended. Just took a bit of time with a dremel as I only wanted to remove minimal material to make it work. Once one side got dialed in (took about 2 hours of multiple little cuts / grinds, matching the other side only took 5 mins.

The 2500 bumper does look great, but thats already been addressed in previous post as to my choice.

I would eventually like to make the "gilled slats on the upper left & right side' to be functional. Have to figure a way to direct water away from any electrical (fuse box) etc, if it were to drain inward.

Did you explain WHERE you got the hood from??? and how it matched your paint?
And if you don't mind, how much was the whole project cost??
