My 2019 Laramie's battery went bad while still under Warranty. AAA came out and replaced it for me. I sent all receipts and paper work requested to Ram. 3 months later still no communication or reimbursement. I contacted Ram and they replied "case closed" with no explanation. I replied back asking what happened, that i never got reimbursed. SILENCE! CRICKETS! Thanks Ram. Great service. I was going to go to local dealer and order a 2022 Laramie . Think i will wait

It is a good possibility that it was not covered. Batteries are considered consumable parts and may not have warranty after two years. Aftermarket batteries are typically better because the manufacturer honors the warranty, not necessarily the retailer.

When did you purchase your 2019? The warranties on a lot of 2019's have expired based on time, regardless of how many miles they have. There is no excuse in my opinion for them not to at least tell you why they aren't covering it. @RamCares

batteries are warrantied under the 3/36000 mile warranty. I had one go bad on a prior vehicle and I was under 3 years by a lot but just over 36000 and they did not cover it.

Let me see, Ram is supposed to pay for a battery that you bought off of AAA?

Proper procedure would have been have AAA charge/jump vehicle, take to a RAM dealer, have said dealer test the battery and charging system AND if found defective, replace with a Mopar battery.

AT the very least, you should have taken the defective battery to Ram to be tested/replaced - of course then you would have a spare battery, but that would be from not handling it correctly.
If you did that and the battery was defective at least you could then ask for a partial or full reimbursement instead of another battery.

Maybe you did take the battery in, but if so, you didn't say that in your original post.

unfortunately when your battery dies it does no good to jump it as it will not stay running. The warranty does say they reimburse if not able to get repaired at a dealership.

MOPAR® AND MAGNETI MARELLI OFFERED BY MOPAR REPLACEMENT BATTERY LIMITED WARRANTY
Batteries found to be defective in materials or workmanship will be replaced at no charge for the part-specified free replacement period from the date of purchase, as noted below.
Batteries installed on an FCA US LLC vehicle covered by the New Vehicle Basic Limited Warranty, which are found to be defective, are warranted for the remainder of the New Vehicle Basic Limited Warranty, or within the free replacement period, whichever is more favorable to the customer.
If the vehicle is equipped with a prorated warranty battery (not all batteries include a prorated warranty, see the top of the battery for warranty details), the owner may receive a prorated allowance toward the purchase of a new Mopar® or Magneti Marelli Offered by Mopar replacement battery.
If the vehicle is not equipped with a prorated warranty battery, is no longer covered by the New Vehicle Basic Limited Warranty, and the free replacement period for the Mopar and Magneti Marelli Offered by Mopar Battery Warranty has expired, the owner may receive a prorated allowance toward the purchase of a new Mopar or Magneti Marelli Offered by Mopar replacement battery.
This warranty is given only to the original retail purchaser, and this warranty is thus nontransferable. The prorated amount will be computed by dividing the number of months since the date the battery was purchased or installed as original equipment (as shown by the date on the customer repair order or parts counter ticket) by the number of months of proration shown on the battery and multiplied by the purchase price of the battery. A battery that fails under the New Vehicle Basic Limited Warranty will be replaced with a Mopar battery of equal or next highest amp-hour rating.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
Batteries that are discharged are not considered defective.

Did you take the Mopar battery to them or did you send it with AAA as the core. No battery delivered to dealer no warranty.

You should have called RAM to get you. Especially if you were under warranty. I bet they would have covered it them. They have no idea what happened.

Not sure I explained that well, but my advice to anyone under warranty, CALL the MFG.

I would have done it the same way, call AAA first to get off the highway

I would have thought that like tires, the dealer would not cover a battery

There are very few times that a battery fails so catastrophically that a charge/jump won't keep the car running if the charging system is working. It can happen but it is fairly rare.
Even if that was the case, unless he presented the battery to Ram, I just don't see it being covered.
AAA also offers a towing service and could have towed the vehicle to the dealer.

Still waiting for the OP to come back and say when he bought his truck, and determine if it's really still under warranty. Like I said before, lots of 2019's are no longer under warranty.

If under warranty, you had roadside assistance.

That's probably true, but I have a 2019 that I bought on presidents day...so not even 2 years old yet.

Not all of them. The factory battery in my 2013 lasted 7 years, the factory battery in my wife's Equinox made it 8 years, and the two factory batteries in my 2015 3500 are still running strong.

None of those are 5th Gen Ram. They are junk with common failure.

My OEM battery died at 25k, they are junk. I went aftermarket.
Opinion or facts?
My 2016 OEM battery is now over 6 years old and still strong. The truck I sold was still running strong on its 8 year old original battery. I'd bet a nickle that all the aftermarket battery makes have the same early failure rate as the OEMs.

My battery failed in my 2019 Laramie at less than 2 years and under 20,000 miles. Dealership said the earliest I could bring it in was the following week. Drive it for a week with a dead battery??? Said I would be there the next day and they agreed to try to "squeeze me in".

My battery/load tester said the battery was bad. 2 out of the 3 testers at the dealership said it was bad. The one that counted, the Chrysler tester, said it was good. After 4 hours at the dealership waiting, the Chrysler tester finally said it was bad and was replaced under warranty.

I wish the OP luck in getting any money from the company if he doesn't have the old battery for them to test.

The original MOPAR battery in my 2001 Dakota lasted 10 years. In my wife's 2004 Caravan and 2013 T&C they lasted 8 years. Not even 2 years from the latest MOPAR battery, hope this isn't a sign of current MOPAR quality.

Fact. Lots of failures on new 1500’s, search around.
