In my town, anything is better than Sirius
I can't drive 2 blocks without the airwave going silent on Sirius

T-Mobile & Sirius both run frequencies that are almost identical

If i am listening to Sirius & drive by the ELKS Club, the radio cuts out, because that piece of property has a huge T-Mobile cell phone towers on it, i drive a bit further & the Outback Steakhouse has another T-Mobile Tower.
There is another one at the Moneytree building & another at the a Private Business Collage

T Mobile is everywhere & now they are putting up poles with a sphere attached to it, they are 5G towers & can't transmit as far as the 3G towers
If you drive by them Sirius cuts out every time

So in town i use AM Radio

Lol. My stock antenna is just fine. I have better things to look at in my Truck than the radio antenna, Dear lord. i think i've stared at it twice in 3 years, and it's mostly to make it straight after bending the damn thing in heavy thick bush in the offroad trail.

Btw i listen to AM/FM, i don't depend on my phone for music or anything other than reading emails, taking pics/videos and reading the forums :)

Yes I like my fully functioning stock antenna too. I travel a lot in rural TX and it works great. As for "looks" I literally never even notice it. Besides that I would never pay extra for a inferior, half size product.

I had to look at my pictures again to see what it looked like, can't say it has ever drawn my attention. Just realized it's chrome so now I like it more! Can't say I drive down a road that trees hit my antenna, if so the rest of my paint job would be getting scratched and not going through car washes that aren't touchless so I'm good!

I rmove the OEM whip and put a stainless steel cap screw in its place. Around town still get decent FM reception. Wife only listens to Sirius and on trips listen to music on a SD card or Sirus.

My main problem was the car wash. The antenna would get whipped around so bad to the point to where I didn't want it to bend the mount.

I swapped mine for a stubby because I didn't like how the silver stocker looked with the Warlock's blacked out theme......after about 3 days, I swapped it back due to poor reception (though I painted the stocker black so it matches nice).

Dude what's your issue with them??? You don't like them so you'll bash them for the people that do??

Owners of short antennas openly bash their own choice well before I started this thread. They openly admit they do not work as well, so I just asked the question Why choose one then? Its a fair question.

Now, people are calling my stock antenna "ugly" and "goofy looking" and such. So who is bashing who now?

They simply look better, but your reception is diminished, at least mine was.
However, that's a non factor if you never listen to the radio, like me.
Plus, just look how cool this looks on my Jeep! Awesome, huh? lol, I don't even have a radio in my Jeep! haha

I haven't noticed any issues swapping to shorts. I've done it on my last 2 trucks and they work just fine. And they don't look ridiculous sticking above the roof line like the stock ones :)

I switched to a shorter antenna because my local carwash. It was horrifying sitting in the truck the whole time waiting for it to be torn off and low branches on trees when driving by them.
