I honestly don't know, "good" can be a little subjective when it comes to this. I personally am far less concerned about the filter than the oil itself. I'm running the smaller Fram Ultra which is synthetic media and silicone ADV and I'll run it to my next oil change, which basically means I'd have it for about 12,000 KM or 7500 miles (half year of driving for me). I'm perfectly fine with that, it's good enough for me, but obviously the bigger Fram Ultra (XG2) and the bigger RP options are definitely better.
Talked about this with @Wild one - you'd hafta set up a differential pressure guage across the filter media to see whent the filter bypass valve opened from media being filled.
That said, extra media may be overkill for contaminant-holding capacity @ 5,000 mile OCI, yet there are still benefits to more media surface area = more total flow opening = less flow restriction for the period of time up until the filter plugs to the OEM filter media openings.
Kapisch? Less likely to bypass during cold weather startup, yadda, yadda.....
