@Burla is such a corrupter I'm putting Red Line in all 3 Harley Holes next week. 'Course, that's kinda a well-known app., but still.
HPL doesn't publish additive levels on their data sheets (I looked), will have to wait for a kind user to post a UOA. HPL does imply they lean heavy on Mg additive though. Here's verbatim copied from their marketing sheet:
"The correct detergent selection combined with base stocks that have low volatility will combat low speed pre-ignition (LPSI) making it a perfect oil for gasoline direct injected (GDI) engines and small displacement turbocharged gasoline engines. HPL PCMO Premium Plus is also formulated with extra anti-wear and antioxidant additives to minimize wear while offering an extended oil life compared to other motor oils. "

My Father has an 07 Ultra 140kmi and a 2017 Street Glide with over 100k. He swears by Redline. The oil dampens the clunk into gear and shifts smoother. He was skeptical too (he wasn't a believer in Syn oils worth) but it is all he uses. The Street glide he bought brand new, the Ultra might of had 6k when he got it IIRC. He does all his own services.Today I made the move to Red Line in all three of my Harley holes. Anxious to take it out, but it's 60 degrees F and raining, and I'm not a hardcore rider. So I'll wait to see any difference.
I bought this bike new, was surprised how clanky the moving parts were. I presume these ship filled with regular mineral oil, because I had the Dealer do the 1st breakin oil change @ 1,000 miles with H-D synthetic oil and it quieted down noticeably. I've read Red Line quiets it down further. I believe that, as noisy as this air-cooled motor is.
The Wests coast gas shortage has caused gas prices to jump 70 cents a gallon this week here in Portland OR Metro area, Diesel prices are holding steady...Googled it, looks like it is a CA problem and not nation wide... That is actually good news imo, I thought it might be something worse.
In California, refineries have struggled to meet recent demands even with lower oil prices.
"Unfortunately, now that we're down to about 10 refineries that make California gasoline in the state, even one disruption can cause a very big price spike," said Severin Borenstein, a professor at UC Berkeley's HAAS School of Business. "And we've had more than one."
