First Post!!!!!

So I had some really high temps towing my RV this summer. Did my research, found the bypass unit by Jesse. Prior to install I had one occasion the trans hit 235-240, not good at all. My old normal was 185-190.

Installed bypass, normal around town is now around 140, towing RV and family my highest was 177(hard acceleration after stop and go traffic) with ambient of 86*

Thanks to all the members who figured out how to keep this truck cool, especially Jesse for his R&D and production work!!!

It's been hot were I reside and today I took a pic of my RAMS temps after an short round trip 45 min. drive ...

All is still good ... thanks, @caulk04 (Jesse) for an simple mod that helps to cool the transmission down.

Got my bypass put in over the weekend and also did a 180 tstat with AGS removal. Heres a before and after temp comparison.

Note for anyone who sees this before installing in the future. Try not to run your engine before otherwise you will be cussing the driver side CAT every time you bump it. Or have something handy to wrap around it while youre working. IMG_3823.jpegIMG_3906.jpeg

Just an FY! I have finally resolved my issue with the over heating transmission. Traded in my 2016 RAM 1500 for a 2023 Chevy Silverado Z71 Trail Boss LT with the 5.3 ten speed trans. I really did want to but the fact that the dealership was not willing to look at the problem without charging me for had finally ate at me enough. I was looking to update to a new RAM but the wife gave a lot of flack and did want another problem RAM. Her daddy had always been a Chevy person, I was never, but then again I was not a RAM person either before the 1500. I was always a Ford person and that wore on me to try Dodge/RAM. So I am going to give the Trail Boss a shot. Not dissing RAM just my own vehicle. It has been a great journey with everyone here and I learned a lot from everyone. I may peek in here from time to time. I did love my truck but not enough to keep dealing with another failing transmission. I have had the Chevy for a month so far and it has been very nice. Anyway just thought I'd let you all know. Will miss the conversations, but not dealing with this particular problem which has been the only problem I really couldn't get a resolution. Peace!

@hawsk99gt , bon voyage! Let us know how you like the Silverado after you put some miles on her. And don't feel too bad, you were the only case I heard of that still had the overheating problems even after the bypass, so there was some real hocus pocus going on with yours. I hope the new truck gives you many low-trouble miles!

Thank you, sir! So far it is fun to drive with that 10speed trans. The 5.3L v8 has some pep. Wish I went with the 6.2L but with gas the way it is now, I settled for the 5.3.
Love the group here, definitely will miss yawl.

Those Temps are so much better and it was even 25⁰ hotter that day you did it. I deleted the AGS a few weeks in to owning mine, along with a 180 stat mine sits just like yours. 186. That's just the EPA sticking the slimy noses where they don't belong

Perhaps I added an incorrect link, though it always works for me. Try again please and do let me know if it still doesn't work.

Says i've been blocked Jesse, can't see nothing.
VPN blocking. I run Norton VPN, and I had to turn it off to get into the site. And my VPN is in California, Norton Servers.
