I have an 2018 Ram 2500 with the quad halogen headlights. I'm looking at upgrading the low beams, and maybe high beams and fog lights, to LED. Looking at your "H11 True LED Kit" for low beams. I have some questions.

First, there seems to be a lot of opinions on both sides of the fence, about using LEDs in the quad reflector housing, especially for low beams. Some say never to do it, you will blind oncoming traffic no matter what you do. Others say they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Your website states "we do not recommend they be used for reflector low beams"- even though they claim to closely match the OEM halogen light pattern. Is this simply a matter of them being too bright as to blind oncoming traffic?

Help me to understand- should they be used in a reflector low beam position? I don't want to be the guy that is blinding everyone on the road. I see this all the time with people that "upgrade" their lighting without regard to the ramifications.

If they really shouldn't be used, I'll just throw in a set of H9 halogens instead- they significantly improve visibility but the lifespan obviously leaves something to be desired.

Thanks!

I have these in my 2014 Quads. I am not running cancelers of any sort. They are dual color, so you flip the headlights off then back on and they change to a deep yellow which really lights up the world.

Here is a coupon code if you go this route. AX9L33RL

The only downside is the 2 colors are aimed differently on the bulb, so if you adjust for the white to be correct, the yellows will be high, not too high but because they are so intense some people get annoyed. If you aim the yellow as the main color, then the white is low. With the yellow aimed a tad high Ive only been flashed 2x since I have installed in April. Also in the rain they are a polar difference in light! The yellow is perfect for dark and rain.

I bought these on a lightning deal on Amazon due to your recommendation. These don’t have any way of screwing in the housing or do you have to take the bulb completely apart and modify things to work? It just has 2 wires coming off the bulb, no plug? What am I missing here?

Mine had a connectors? They were straight up plug and play from amazon? I also ordered error cancellers and wound up not using them as they would make the switch of colors unpredictable.

Here's what mine look like. Wires.JPG

And on the bulb, that plate in the arrow doesn't even come close to working with my housing.

Mine are 100% identical to this video, that’s not me by the way. Mine are identical in size, color, and setup as this video and used the link in the video to order mine. Looking at my old link I don’t even see our headlight size anymore. I think you bought the wrong bulb size.

I had OPT7's in my 14 Ram 1500 with quads and didn't like them due to the fans or whatever causing static in my radio.

I went back to OEM with no issue. Then went with some Headlight Revolution Supernova V.2 LEDs and they were brighter, better throw, better cutoff, cheaper, better warranty (haven't needed it yet) and didn't cause my radio to crap out.

Just went to their site and unless I'm wrong the Supernova V.2's are no longer available. They're listing V.4's in a pre-order status only.

Yeah. The V2s are a couple generations old. They use the stainless steel heat sinks instead of fans. I like em and will be looking to replace them when I find something better.

They are now v3 i believe with new generation v4 on preorder status..
I have both vanquish and supernova v3 and prefer the vanquish with the fan.
I bought black bezel oem quads and supernove v3 bulbs to replace chrome quads with the vanquish.
Ran the v3 for 3-4weeks and driver side took a crap. Flickered a day or two a few times then kaput. Excellent customer service got it replaced but since I had them I put the vanquish into black bezel quads.
Both are bright but vanquish to me has a better pattern and cutoff as well as I dont like stuffing all that braided heat sync into the housing
No disrespect intended, Just my impression and opinion after running both back to back

Any issues with static on the radio with fans?

That’s main reason I’m hesitant to go fan cooled route again. Also, I have the RA2 5” screen radio (for now) for reference.

I'm interested as well. Not as fond of HR as they seem to advocate people putting HIDs in their halogen housings. But if the LEDs are good...
