I may have been the first to mention alfaOBD in this forum back in April.
https://www.ramforum.com/threads/best-cheap-obdii-scanner.117950/#post-1698096

OBDLink MX bluetooth dongle and the alfaOBD app for android. The app is from Europe where Fiat is very common. As FCA becomes more Fiat, the app works with more of Fiat's incursions. Seems to do what the dealer's Witechs can do. If you are your own mechanic and can't get yourself to buy anything but Mopar look into these.

But I deserve no credit. I did not even have my Ram until Sept so I couldn't play with it. Ghost_RAM deserves all the credit and fame!

That box at the bottom allows you to add your tire circumference no need to use the drop down menu. You can use a tire calculator online to get that number. My 37's I ended up using 2870mm which equals out for 36.2 tire and that gave me within 1/2 Mph at 60

If you dont have the box you might need to update app, as I didn't upload mine till a couple days ago

2870mm is 112”. Am I missing something?

This is by far the single busiest thread in the whole forum, it should be pinned to the top of every subforum in here because the information in this one thread is relevant to just about every other subforum.

I vote that they create a complete section devoted to just AlphaOBD. Then we can have individual threads for each mod under that (TPMS change thread, rain wiper thread. LED light thread etc.). This thing is getting so big it's a bear to navigate through any more.

.

This is a stellar idea.

I found this thread literally as I'm in the dealer waiting room to have my backup camera programed. I wish i found it sooner. This app is amazing and the info in this thread is almost limit less. Thanks Ghost Ram for starting this thread. I agree this needs to have is own sub forum.

Take note of the ports yours has listed. There must be two COM ports created by Windows for the OBDLink interface for the incoming and outgoing. You need to select the outgoing port in the program (see the Start tab in advanced mode). Just try both ports, one of them should work. Alternatively you can check which port is outgoing in the Windows “Bluetooth devices”.

I opened my device manager and I only have 1 port when I expand PORTS (Com&LPT). It’s titled Communications Port (COM1)

Will Alfa obd and /OBDmx still work on my pc or do I need a tablet at this point?

Thank you

Obd mx is Bluetooth, so as long as you have Bluetooth on PC, or usb with Bluetooth dongle you should be set.
Hope that helps.

The "Port" won't be there till it's created. Connect the OBD MX to the computer then check Device Manager for Bluetooth/COM port numbers.

Has anybody messed with programming the tire pressure id's? I sold my set of rims and need to program new sensors and was wondering if this would work9a9011cf330902dccb8c0445f8a884df.jpg

I don’t believe so. If you do, please take notes and perhaps even a write up in the DIY section.
