I'm in the same boat as you. The wiring diagram I found here isn't a match to what my truck has. I have the same wires you have pictures. I'm trying to add the lights and the compass module.

Ok, so i installed mine today, no compass or LED just the courtesy/map lights. Was really pretty simple, and took about 1 hour. Wiring wise here is what i did:

1. Ground i spliced into dome light ground just above green connector (too half)
2. Courtesy pwr spliced into same place but the other wire.
3. Map lamp pwr i splice into the yellow/ligh blue wire on bottom side of green connector.

Thats all it took for just the lamps. I did make a template out of cardboard to cut the headliner which came out perfect.

The template was 10 3/5 x 5 3/4. I marked the mount holes for the inner assembly and then cut a starter hole to get a reference once i put the liner back up. I slowly cut wider and wider until i could reference the holes. After that, i traced the entire template with pencil and make the final entire cut.

Thanks for the dimensions and what to wire up. Now to figure out what I need to do for the compass module!

Here are some of the originals...

console and retainer
pin-out kit
green plug access (left side cover can be removed for access)
green plug (bottom 3 banks with black left, empty center and yellow/wht right.

I have a wire where they are saying plug for power.

Should i just tap it like other two?

Did you figure this out? I have the same question on my 2018 Tradesman 2500. I've attached a picture of my green connector and I'm trying to figure out how to connect the (3) pigtail wires from the console to the green connector. I'm just doing the map lights. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Read through this post. I have a 2018 Tradesman, 2 questions if you don't mind. 1, did you have to buy both the console and black retainer assembly, or was that part already in the ceiling behind the headliner. 2 did you end up having to connect to those two wires (blue/green and yellow) or did you find harness already in ceiling? Do you have any pictures of your install? Thanks.

Has anyone done this on a 2016 2500 Tradesman?

I just want to install the basic one, 1PQ03BD1AA, with no garage opener, sunroof, or back window button.

Will just following the original write up work or are there different cables and harnesses for “newer” 4th Gens?

S Ive read through all 17 pages of this thread. Great write ups and help from everyone.
My 2016 2500 Big Horn came with the overhead console and sliding rear switch, but no homelink. I have the 8.4 Uconnect with rear camera.
Can I get this module and just cut the existing console?

I'd recommend buy the black section with the homelink cutout already. You can find the whole console with Homelink for sale often.

Ok, I actually have one with a 2012 Homelink module installed. The Homelink will work plug and play but in 2013+ trucks there will be no programming prompts in the EVIC to let you know what's happening when you press the buttons. It will still work to open garage doors though.

In addition, the lights inside are a greenish color vs the white/bluish backlight color of the newer Ram Trucks.

Finally, this one has a sunroof switch too, I don't know if non functionality of the extra buttons will bother you but it's all yours if you want it.0bd624b9475bbd704c2be9ec829ea19d.jpg

I appreciate it, but I need one with the sliding rear window switch.
I think I will just by the 13+ module and cut my bezel.
Thanks.

I might have that too, but if you already have the switch it just pops out and pops into this one.

I think the sliding rear window switch and the sunroof switch are different orientations.

Correct, they don't occupy the same space. If you currently have a rear slider, the switch and insert will simply pop out of your current overhead console and into this one...

I just finished installing mine, FINALLY! I got the kit and took off my visor nearly a year ago and then got spooked by the wiring. But in the end it was so stinking easy and they work perfectly! Only missing the compass module and cup holder light plugs as I haven’t been able to source either of those plugs yet!

Which side do you start to take just the black piece off? Start prying first from the wi dahield side or from the back?
