I recently noticed my truck jerking or moving forward when MDS kicks off. I also feel the engine just vibrating, it's like a small hesitation right before I get all 8 cylinders back and it makes it feel like a really hard shift when it finally releases it.
I tried driving around with MDS off and the truck feels like a complete different vehicle, just a way better ride overall, no jerking, no weird sounds when MDS kicks in and out, and no more harsh shifting.
Tranny was replaced less than 6 months ago under warranty because of this symptoms by the way and I'm now pretty sure the problem was always the MDS system. Has anyone here experienced anything similar? No check engine light, no stalling, truck running good other than feeling "rough" when MDS is on.

My 2019 classic is similar. Either I got numb to it in 61k miles or the power train tuned itself to my driving habits such that I don't pay much attention anymore.

I used to turn MDS off after every restart, but when fuel prices spiked to where they did, I lived with it.

Not a lick of trouble with my 2019. My 4th gen rams have been the nicest, most trouble free vehicles I've owned.

I get a similar vibration when I'm driving in town around 30-35 MPH at a steady pace, it almost feels like I have fouling sparkplugs, I only assume that this is caused by the MDS system cutting off air/fuel to half the cylinders. upon acceleration the vibration goes away, and I have plenty of power to spare. I was thinking that a tuner like "Bully Dog" Diablo, or this HP would be something that would help with this, but in the past month that I have owned my 14 Ram 1500, I come to learn that this is just a characteristic of the 5.7L Hemi motor. Besides, I have better fuel economy, more power, and the tow package in my truck, why would I spend the money to put a tuner in to jeopardize loosing one, or most of them features to eliminate an uncomfortable felling when cruising.

I agree. You know I not only get a hesitation at cruising speeds, I also get hard shifts with my 8 speed transmission. I am a conservative driver, and the only time I've had my truck shift comfortably is when I drive aggressively, I just purchased my '14 Ram 1500 Laramie, Longhorn about a month ago used, I can only assume that the previous owner was an aggressive driver, and it will take some time for the ECM, Transmission, and other modules to adjust to my driving style, and habits.
