Days of supply is quite different than slow sales.
The same metric is used in real estate to get a handle on current consumer demand.
Ram trucks are in great demand, but maybe lower in demand compared to the supply than in previous years.

6 months ago I priced out a Ram 3500 vs a Ford F350, both with as close as possible the same specs, on their respective web sites. The Ram was $11,000 more than the Ford. I don't suppose that could have anything to do with it. Nah, couldn't be.

along that line, I recently priced a '24 ram 2500 laramie 6.7 vs a '24 chevy silverado ltz with as near the same stuff as they have and the msrp's were very close but the chevy dealers only had a 500$ discount while the ramdealer had almost 12000$ off. was thinking I might upgrade two years but finance rates are still no good.

Hmmm, got my Ram 2500 4WD Tradesman w/hemi & 7.4” Uconnect delivered to TN for $46,400 in Feb 2022. I guess prices do matter.

There's a lot of ways to tell a story and in this case we can say that the # of days supply is FAR more than it needs to be. Ram sales overall this year are down YOY but not by 50%, more like 5-7% if I recall. It also is worth noting the difference in rebates/incentives on the trucks compared to competitors. Interest rates are same across the board so that's a constant anyway. RAM truck production was unaffected by strike at all for HDs, and only for about 10 days for the 1500s, though it seemed they were well geared up for a gap if it had happened.

For consumers, high days supply will mean better discounts from RAM and dealerships, theoretically.

Like to know where that 92 number sold in the last 45 days came from? Simple math of how many RAM dealers there is vs. that numbers gives like a less than tenth of a vehicle sold per dealer.

I get the technical detail of what you are saying, but I doubt anybody was confused by inclusion of the word "Dodge". That legacy association is a hard thing to drop out of peoples minds.

The quality of the entire line must improve. RAM is cream of the corp. crop and they still have not addressed the manifold problem, nor the tick. Perhaps the Hurricane engine is well sorted. The cars are not up to industry standards. Ask any good mechanic and they will tell you.

There is certainly a lot more to it than what was reported. If tried to find a Dodge Challenger, the only reason they aren't selling is because most dealers have marked up since they're the last ones. That was what made me give up on new Ram 2500 or 3500. The gas ones were all at least $3,000 over sticker last year. I decided to keep my 2014 as long as possible.

2024 is going to be an interesting year for Ram pickups. The new Dakota coming out hopefully.
Ram 2500 and 3500 are very expensive. Fleet sales have probably decreased because Ram had problems getting the orders out during the supply change crisis.

We went to the International Auto Show in San Diego. There was very little interest in the Big Three trucks. I feel the days of driving a 3.5 ton vehicle around when you don't tow, use one to make a living or carry a cabover are about over.

Were the prices obtained from a dealer? Is that price difference the dealer adding money just to buy the truck from them?
