Understood, for a couple hundred dollars an oil change I don't mind changing it sooner, if it were a couple thousand then that's a different story.

I haven't look at the oil filter thread in awhile but I'm running the royal purple.... Is there something better that should be considered now?

Also something to note this is with a tune that turns off the mds for the entire oil change
as long as its the 20-820 imo you running the best filter as well. endurance would be fe2 part number.

Here is my latest oil analysis with RL 5/30. Just over 20k mile oil change with nearly 100k miles on engine. Using Amsoil air filter and Amsoil dual remote bypass filter system.

It looks good. Supports the claim that Redline is a really great oil and worth the price. Why does the first with the Amsoil SS have the Hazard sign? Was that oil not good?
For the Hemi, even though it looks like Redline can handle it, I would avoid going over 5000 miles on the oil change interval. On an engine getting close to 100,000 in mileage, continuing 20k intervals would be just asking for trouble IMO.

I use PAPE for oil analysis

I use PAPE for oil analysis. Just the way they flag items, in that case the engine was newer and breaking in. RL 5/30 just seemed to be better than the Amsoil 5/20ss. The dual filter bypass allows me to run extended oil interval as it was the best result in spite of 20k miles than previous results.

crazy impressive when you see the new 20k mile interval and near 2 years, thanks for posting!

I'm sending in my first oil analysis on this truck to Blackstone. Is the TBN useful and necessary with today's oil? I've heard different opinions and don't mind the extra $10.00 if it's useful.

This oil sample on the Pentastar is 5986 miles on 5.75 quarts of PUP 5/30, and 15oz Lubegard Biotech. Total engine mileage is 34604 miles.

I always do it because I like nerdy details like that. But really it's only useful if you are planning to establish an oil change interval and you want to know how far you can push it. If you're like most of us and change it every 5000 to 7000 miles then its not needed.

Thanks. This 6000 mile change is pushing it for me. lol

I would consider 7 to 8k if everything looks good. I don't expect to put over 4 to 5k a year on the truck from here on out. Maybe not that much.

This 6k was 11 months.

Heck, I'll get the TBN just because.

Just got a UOA back, been using PUP 5W-20 for the last 3 oil changes. The previous owner used a 5W20 synthetic blend from whatever shop they had doing the maintenance, so I waited a couple of intervals until sending in the analysis.

Thoughts in general? Positive comments from Blackstone...

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W20
7,000km interval
MOPAR filter

Perfect, it appears like one of those 500k mile trucks.

Moreover is the oil choice, that is a well built oil ca to mag ratio is perfect ish and it is a low wear hemi. No red flags here. Kinda what happens in a well built engine at this time in it's life, in fact if it trends like similar engines it would even get better. Traditional thought is as engines age and tolerances widen, it is beneficial to go up a little in viscosity, but in this case not needed at this time. You can also add a catch can.

Looks like it took about 3 1/2 weeks to get your sample. Mine is out two weeks today. Guess I have some time to go.

What little I've learned here and other places, your sample looks very good.

Mine is a bit different because I'm in Canada but mailed from the US via a family member who makes trips over the border fairly frequently. Jason at Blackstone told me that typically from payment received to analysis given is about a week.

I received new sample bottles before the week was out after I sent my sample in. The request was on the sample paper, so I know they got it.

Would be my luck they spilled it.......

Three weeks ago today I got an e-mail from Blackstone they had received my oil, and it was working through the system.

A few days later I received two new sample kits.

Today I received another sample kit I didn't request.

I still have no report, or any additional information about it.

If I did have something going on in my engine, it would be blown up by now.

I'm almost 100% positive Speediagnostix will get my future samples. They are around 60 miles from me, and also promise a quick turnaround.

I will pay extra to not wait a month.

From the Speed Diagnostix website:
Sample turnaround time begins the day the samples arrives at the lab. For a 6 day turnaround service kit, the results will be emailed by the end of the 3rd business day after the sample arrives at the lab. For a 3 day turnaround service kit, the results will be emailed by the end of the 2nd business day.

Well, after my rant about my oil report 3 hours ago, I look, and the report just showed up in my e-mail.

I'm well know for sticking my foot in my mouth, so I guess this one more time won't hurt me much...lol

Here goes.... Does my copper look a little high?

The wear looks fantastic, but we don't have a large body of that engine uoa's. Moly can cause copper numbers up, but I doubt that is what is going on here. Just young engine still getting washed out, get another one and see if it is trending down. I disagree with Blackstone, at 2.7 tbn imo it is a perfect time for new oil, so imo I'd stick at the 6k interval and also test that again. I'd be pretty happy with that report, what filter are you using? That oil is well built as well, even if you took the biotech out that oil is a good oil on paper. Not saying you should take it out, but the oil is serving you well.
