So my motor popped the cylinder #2 intake valve spring, engine ran fine before the spring broke. Besides the valve train noise, it got me home from work fine. I replaced the spring & all the valve guide seals while I was in there. Put everything back together with new plugs & new Taylor shorty wires. The battery went dead over the time I was doing the repair..took my time..lol. after jump starting my truck, it wouldn't idle & had to keep my foot in the throttle. I did pull the fuel pump relay early on in the repair so it wouldn't fire while cranking it over. I know the ram's are sensitive to low voltage so I changed the battery since the one in it was over 4 years old, still didn't change anything. Motor was rebuilt just under 100k ago, 6.1 crank, molnar rods, probe pistons, 6.1 exhaust valve springs on all valves. Any ideas on what else I should look for? I haven't pulled it back apart yet. I did hand turn the motor over several times to make sure the valve train was spinning over like it should with no binding or popping before I put it back together. Any ideas will help

I didn't know it was a broken valve spring, just knew it was valve train noise. Found the broken spring when I pulled the valve covers off

You sure that valve isn't bent?Maybe a compression test or leak down test is in order?
