03 to 05 PCM swap

Well today I was loading a trans tune into my diablo and lost communication with the tcm. I've heard diablos and 05 pcms can have issues with this. So I may have lost all transmission tuning almost as fast as I got it

Gonna be using the intune tuner. Not sure if he got the right one yet. Once I get the PCM setup I'll hook it up and see. He's got an 03 with a Paxton supercharger kit. Should be interesting to see what this thing does after.

Got the truck all done. Tune went well. Cruise control is working perfectly without any modifying.

Awesome! The cruise thing is really annoying me, not sure the problems. Did you vin flash the pcm? Also my recommendation is once you get your trans tuning done, DON'T touch it unless absolutely necessary. Mine randomly lost communication with the tcm with no apparent way to get it back when I was loaded a revised trans tune in. As far as I know its problems related to diablo products

Any updates? I swapped a while back, but I have a stand alone transmission and use a manual trans PCM which eliminated the tcm harness. Good luck, IMO the 05 swap is the best mod you can do on a 03.

Didn't do any vin flashing. Simply got a 2005 PCM from some other random truck and popped it in. Cruise worked right away. No issues at all.

I did the same exact thing, still lost cruise. That leads me to believe it may have not worked on the donor truck? Maybe I got a bad pcm. I can always buy another one down the road

Yeah for sure. I dunno why it wouldn't work. Should be up and going really. Unless you randomly have a bad switch or something.

All I know is it worked perfectly before. After the swap I would occasionally get a few codes related to the cruise


I switched a wire in the pcm we had discussed that seemed like a mismatch according to the pinouts, but that didn't fix anything, it now have about 3 cruise related cel's. so my next step is possible having a dealer vin flash me, or order another pcm and try it out. It's a process. Other then that and the tcm tuning issues I have, I love the swap. I was able to raise my idle for my cam and I think tuning wise it is overall better.

Since then ive spoke to a couple of others and their cruise also didint work. There is a wiring difference in the cruise circuit between the 03 and 05. It switches from a sensor ground to a cruise sense. Im working on it but its not a priority at the moment.

Me and Keith found the wire, and I changed it over last week. No change, it just added more cruise wire mismatch cel's. I changed c2 pin 27 to c3 pin 15. That's as far as I've looked into it

Yeh I think changing those wires wasn't the best idea, seems like when you change them you bet more codes. I'd put them all back to where they were

It was worth a shot. Don't know till you try. I wish I knew a dodge tech who could tell me the difference between the 03 and 05 cruise

Keith, was the one who put me on to the difference. I changed the wires at the pcm. But now im going to go into the clock spring when i get a chance.

I really don't see any difference in the pin outs. I'm a dodge tech. I've gone over it and over it and I see no difference In the pin outs.
