09 ram 5.7 mds enging interchange HELP! PLEASE!

Can someone please tell me why it is so hard to find a used 5.7 that will fit my 09 ram 1500 w/mds. VIN "T" I would like to find a low mile engine but it seems that it is One Of A Kind! Please help me to figure this out. I am a old retired mechanic that understands this stuff but, I would like to know the diff between like a 09 compared to a 2013 for example. And things that work or have to change. PLEASE! and Thank You!!!

I wish you luck, though some thoughts come to mind...

An engine is a total screamer to ship (lots and lots and lots of pounds...) so I'm not sure if a random pack of enthusiasts would be able to source one for you offhand...

I agree with using Jasper, but they will be more expensive than a used low mileage engine.
