My son’s truck now. He came home from work and said when turning sharp it has a clunking noise. Assuming ball joints, would you press new ones in or replace the arms entirely due to age? 12 Express with larger wheels and tires and Bilsteins to the top. I’ve found the Mevotech A Arms on Rock Auto for 600$ complete set. The TTX ones.

What is the mileage?

And, is the clunking behaviour more or less evident when turning one way or the other, forward or backwards?

Check on the fender liners and links for rub marks, lots of times with larger tires, they will rub on hard corners, Tie rods , ball joints usually would not do that , unless totally falling apart. 4wd drives would as MoJo listed.

Yeah 4wd, I’ll have to ask him the other questions. Was just getting brand ideas for replacement.

Think I found the issue…
Unless he's auto crossing the truck, his cheapest fix is to completely remove the front swaybar, odds are he'll never notice it gone. My truck and the wifes last 2 Challengers haven't had front swaybars since they were basically new,and you can't tell none of them are missing the front bar,and i play in the Rockies fairly often, where you'll see all kinds of wildlife including Momma Grizzlies and young-uns in the ditch.
