Just looked on moparonlineparts.com and they have a premium and ultra premium cluster one is 510 bucks and the other is 534 bucks, but they are brand new. What would the difference be between the premium and ultra premium?

I talked to them and they said they wouldnt sell one to me, something about a core charge.......and they cant set the odometer to current miles.

Ok, I have spoken to my buddy at the dealership.

1. Price ~$500
2. Core charge ($800) (give them old cluster to not pay core fee)
3. Set Odometer to whatever you want, only if being ordered new.
--3.1: Unknown company that sets mileage (trying to figure out)
4. Last 8 of VIN and PN will be required.

I know the price is steep, but if this works out, we should have a direct contact for new units with mileage set. He did say that before anything goes forward with this, that he will need to give me a thumbs up on his end, as someone else mentioned, sometimes Chrysler will not deal parts if the VIN does not match, but he said he will try and work it out.

I have a full list of of cluster part numbers that he printed off for me. I need to know how many different colors exist. I looked through all the trucks on the lot today, and only found 2 different types of clusters, colors wise, black background with silver rings, and a gold background with silver rings.

Here is what I have so far, I will be sending the other VINs I got today to him on Monday for him to verify colors.

If anyone else in Canada or from other states want to grab the last 8 characters from the VIN of a truck that has the cluster you want, I can have the VIN checked and below list updated.

I'm much more happy waiting for my mileage to match then having to go through all of the above....for less than 50% of their price.

But I do know the comfort of getting a new part directly from Mopar and having warranty is worth it sometimes...

Agreed, I knew it was going to be around $500 or so brand nee, just didn't want to say before I got conformation on price.

I might end up just waiting to find one with around 15000 or so miles. I'll be taking a trip to Colorado soon, and that will put some miles on it.

I don't understand? Which one would I have to order? I have the Ram 1500 Express 4x4 with the 5.7L Hemi and 8 speed auto. And since the one I'm exchanging is less expensive than the premium one, will I get the same core charge?

From my understanding, if you do not return the factory cluster you're replacing you will be charged a core fee which was estimated at $800.

The one you need to order needs to be figured out first. As stated in my original post, people will be required to complete the research. Find another truck similar to your setup with the cluster you want, write down the last 8 characters of the VIN and send it to me. I will forward the VIN information to my buddy and he will locate the PN in the list above, and let me know which one it is.

I have 1 VIN pending on my end which will let me know the gold cluster PN.

I hope it is the right one for you! Damn that was a steal!!!

It was the regular 4" EVIC not the 7" premium....But the door panels I also ordered were perfect and he is going to keep looking for me so I might get lucky before I actually roll up another 20K miles to equal the one sitting in the garage.

The folks at Instrument Cluster Store quoted me a price of $200 to correct the mileage on a premium cluster. If you can find one inexpensive enough that the additional $200 isn't a huge deal that would certainly speed up the upgrade, and it is a lot cheaper than paying an $800 core charge.

Awesome, if I can find one for around $150, I'd pay the $200 to match my mileage.

I bought one on car-part.com for 125$ I'm callin these people tomorrow about resetting the mileage. I guess when resetting the mileage you need to put it a few hundred miles ahead??? So by the time it gets back the old one want be past the new one...

That's pretty awsome, cuz I know I wont find one with 50K miles on it.
I got a lead on a cluster for $100...

I wanna see if I can make it work in my 09. The part I worry about is it workind with my steering wheel buttons.

I'm hoping that if you stay away from the gold colored clusters you'd be more likely to find one that came from an SLT (Big Horn/Lonestar/Outdoorsman) or Sport that wasn't originally paired with an 8.4" touchscreen head unit.
They would need to be controlled by the steering wheel buttons instead of the HU.
The clusters with gold rings are Laramies, Longhorns, and Limiteds that came with 8.4 HU.
Look for Silver or Black rings and you might be more likely to get one that works with your wheel buttons.

Will one from a 4x4 Big Horn work fine?
If I'm right in my thinking, as long as the donor didn't have the 8.4 UConnect it should work with our steering wheel controls without any hiccups.

They have one with silver rings and they told me the mileage was 50K. They have it priced at $125. That should save you $175 over buying one and having it reset.
