'15 R/C guys:

As owners of some of the lightest trucks in the 4th Gen, I'm curious to hear what you guys are getting, range-wise, on a tank of gas.

I'm on my 3rd tank so far (first two from the dealer were free :) ), and I'm just a HAIR under 500 miles (approximately 470 miles), but I think I'm going to show 0 miles in the EVIC before I crack 500.

I'm curious to see what you other R/C guys are getting? 500? 550? I know mileage varies based on driving style, mods, terrain, etc....just trying to see the spectrum here.

I've got a fairly level 26 mile all highway commute to work (52 miles round trip), and I keep it pretty benign (cruise control set at 70). Mileage is better than my '12 GMC R/C Sierra (about 16-17 MPG), but not quite as good as my '14 Ram 2500 with th Cummins (about 22-23 MPG). I've been swinging about 19.4-19.5 MPG for the first 1000 miles or so.

How about you guys?

I have a 2015 R/C 4WD Sport

I get about 380 miles per tank with a 12 mile drive to work. (24 mile round trip)

The Hemi is thirsty in normal local traffic but cruising at 65MPH it can get great mileage.
It is about the same as my F150 with the 5.0 but I think it should better then 14.6 MPG for me but I don't care. I love my Hemi!

I have a 14' RC Hemi with 3.21s and it's going to be the same as a 15' but I get about 470ish about 90/10 highway/city driving. I always set my cruise control at 70mph on the highway and it likes it there. I average according to my EVIC with the mixed driving about 22ish mpg. It's not bad on the highway at all.

I also average well over 21 MPG, and sometimes over 22 MPG on some tanks.

The Cummins you had, that you mention got over 22mpg?

Was that a Regular cab as well and 2wd? Because no way in hell mine gets over 18mpg on the highway @ 70MPH

My 14 has you all covered mind you I am 95% highway +. I filled her up on Wed afternoon and after a 50 mile mostly highway trip I still show 597 miles until empty. The odo reads 11,400 miles and I am guessing 11,000 are highway ie a trip in May ate up 6500 miles.

You guys should post your engine, tranny and gears if you are talking about mileage or range for others to reference. RC's can only get the 26gal tank unless long bed right? I have the 32 gal tank in my CC 6'4" bed truck and it goes 2 weeks or more of city driving at crappy 14mpg. Never seen light come on. I will check range one of these days, prob high 300's. 8spd 3.21 2wd Hemi

My Cummins was a '14 Tradesman Crew Cab 2WD. I was running it with an Edge Tuner dialed to "Economy" mode. Same commute that I have now.

And yes, as long as I stayed out of the right pedal and kept it right around 70, then I would regularly see about 22 MPG. I never towed with it, either.

Yup, mine's a regular bed length (6 foot, 4 inches, if I'm not mistaken?). 8HP70 (the 8 speed trans), not sure on the gears...I'll have to check the window sticker.

I'm seeing some of your guys' tank numbers, and I'm feeling pretty good now. I'm sure I can get it to crack 500/tank one of these days. That 8-speed tranny is indeed a God-send! :happy107:

If you are getting great mileage you probably have the 3.21's. I really wish I had ordered the 3.92's as I rarely drive on the highway. Yes, the RC only comes with 6'4" box or 8' box. I had a hard time finding a Laramie with the 6'4" box so I ordered one and love it other than the gears. I'm stupid. Most people say its a wash between the two gears as around town the mileage is slightly better and the tranny doesn't shift as much on the highway with small hills or headwinds etc.

I have a 2014 model with the 3.92 rear. Going to work and back home I would average about 60 miles, and I have managed to get around 440 to 460 miles a tank.

Yup, I'm sporting the 3.21s...I just double checked my window sticker.

oops 14 Hemi rcsb 4x4 3:21's and the 11,400 miles so far are getting me just under 23 mpgs. Don't forget lotsa highway miles and drive like gramps in case one has trouble believing me. As an example on the way down to Mobile AL (3200ish miles) I never once went quicker than 60 mph and saw interstate for a total of approximately 100 miles give or take a few. I love taking my time and exploring backroads America.

I find out that I get better fuel mileage going 70mph then anything near 60mph because with the 3.21s the transmission is constantly downshifting to go up hills.

I don't have a R/C, but a quad 4x4. I just did a trip to WI 480 miles each way. I made it on one tank and used right at 22.5 gallons of gas or just over 21 MPG. Great mileage for a 5500lb truck and a 500 mile range on the small 26 gallon tank is nice. I'm sure a R/C would do a little better.
