I was hoping for a good MPG in a 1/2 ton. Don't like Ford, but was looking at the ecoboost.
Now I just hope the EcoDiesel will not be too pricey and that it will be available in a nice edition (Longhorn).
I would get the current V6 if I could get it with heated + cooled seats, etc...

The Hemi with 8 speed has the same mileage rating as the Ecoboost. A V8 with the economy of a 6.

I think a diesel 1500 sounds great, but if the pricing is anything comparable to the Jeep no one will buy it. If we'd be expected to pay around $55k for a diesel 1500, why would you not make the decision to buy a 2500 Cummins????? Seems like a huge waste to me.

Here's what I was reading...2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel First Drive - Motor Trend

Because quite simply some of us don't need a 3/4 ton especially one that costs more. I don't need a Longhorn either but I chose to buy one. To each his own. For the driving I do a diesel would be wonderful but I sure don't want a big 3/4 ton to park where I need to park.

Price needs to be right but many people do not need a 2500 and by getting a truck that is bigger to get a more efficient engine it kind becomes a wash which we know when comparing MPG.

I actually always think if I did jump into a diesel currently I would do 3500 non dually diesel and have a beast for just in case situations.

Some things I want to have and can't get with a V6:
Auto-Headlamps
Power driver AND Power passenger seat
UConnect 8.4AN (Navigation)
Or am I reading this wrong:

Thank you for that link. I've been trying to figure out the differences between models and what options are available on each and it's been frustrating. The pages at the back should help - if they are accurate! I need the adjustable pedals and would like to get the V6 and 8 speed but from what little I've been able to find that combo isn't available. I drove a 2012 Limited with a hemi yesterday and wasn't overly impressed. The tranny seemed to hunt n peck a LOT even on a flat road. My 07 Silverado doesn't have that issue even in the mountains. I'm not sure if the Hemi/8 speed will be better or worse. Any thoughts, guys? I like my Chevy but the 2013 Ram just looks so much better than the upcoming 14 Silverado - inside and out.

It seems that the Ram is better because it is :) Ram has spent time innovating and creating new things people want while increasing quality. The 8 speed will be epic and a big game changer. The diesel and the 8 speed should make for a dynamite combo and it will be coupled with the very best in fit and finish and ride quality. I am stoked for it being Dodge/Ram used to lag behind in many of these areas. Did you know the Pentastar has almost the same HP as the 5.3L in the GM's 10 less I believe.
